That's a curious thing to do, eke. Why do you hide your review in spoiler tags?

I consciously avoided the comments sections of anything Infinite related for precisely that same reason. You'll be glad to know that even if you did come across a spoiler, it doesn't diminish the overall effect once you experienced the ending proper. I'm a few hours from the end, and just going by general comments from those who have had the ending spoiled, it didn't detract from the overall OMGWTFBBQ of its resolution. So far, it's definite GotY material for me, and possibly Game of the generation. I feel the art style and direction is so carefully crafted and its supplemented by some amazingly evocative pieces of music. It trips over itself with some wild goose chases after some MacGuffins, but overall, it's consistently enthralling, with some of the funnest gunplay since Bulletstorm.

It depresses me that we won't be seeing another BS entry any time soon. And Levine is cognizant of the fact that he is essentially locking himself into these lengthy cycles to deliver these kinds of experiences. One wonders whether the whole process won't just burn him out over the long haul.

The 1Plus2 does not have more bass overall than the Flat4 or IE800 thank God. Or in this case: thank Gavin. It can pump out more high quality sub bass than just about any IEM when the track calls for it however. It has one of the most visceral and speaker-like bass responses of any IEM I've come across.

Thanks for your replies, but hmm, I think you've got me even more confused and curious now. Thing is, while I'm the first to agree that the IE800's bass is boosted, it's main emphasis is actually on sub bass (<60 Hz).

So how can the 1Plus2 have less bass overall and at the same time pump out more sub bass? Maybe I'll have to wait until someone measures these things, to get to the bottom of what seems like a paradox to me. confused.gif

Meh, just didn't want to seem overly obnoxious.

Thanks for the tips recommendation for the F-4 btw James. I'm enjoying them with one of the FAD tips so far. I think it's the med. "A" tip, however, I do notice that my ears get sore after a period of time. I think it's related to their bulbous shape and the stiff material, both of which, ironically seem to be necessary for me to achieve a good seal

Nice pic, Eke! I've never heard a tube amp, so now you're (at least) one step ahead of me. smile_phones.gif

Speaking of which, while scouring the net for for new aptX/bluetooth gadgets, I came across this thing:

Sorry, it seems our wires are getting crossed.

The IE800 is more boosted in the sub bass region. No doubt.

The key word for the 1Plus2 is quality. I should have clarified: the 1Plus2 isn't the most bassy IEM out there. It has the most visceral and speaker-like bass of any IEM out there I've experienced. That's what I meant by "it can pump out more high quality sub bass."

Ah it's nights like tonight made me glad to delve in this crazy hobby. Midnight, feeling comfortably sleepy, Chiri-chan (the MDR-7550) in my ears perfectly (especially my right ear since it has eldritch geometry as I've finally acknowledge it frown.gif ), listening to songs from my, by far still unbeaten group of Japanese VAs....

This is only a $250 (+$150 custom Obj.2) gear (combination), and I can't imagine how the girls will sound like with higher end gear, but I'm quite content for the time being. smily_headphones1.gif

Have a pleasant night/day from still 16°F/-9°C Moscow.

All I want now is an expertly made genuine Turkish coffee and I can sleep very content tonight.

Not ALWAYS wise.  When I was looking at buying Sword of the Stars 2, for example, I noticed that the metacritic reviews started out awful, and got progressively better over time.  Reading into the reviews, peopel commented on how a years worth of development went in after release, and transformed the game.

Its overall metacritic score is probably still weighed down by the early scores.  Which in one sense is their own fault, but in another sense is too bad.

Despite all the raving I'm hearing about Bioshock, stuff like it being a fps is preventing me from being sold.

Then again, my game taste is not always mainstream.  See above.

I wouldn't dream of spoiling Infinite, it's far too good a story to give away the goodies on it. I'm playing the pc version, and it looks great at 2500x1600. The city of Columbia is the real star of the game. When you first see it, you'll gasp at how cool it is. That's very rare in games, nowadays.
