Good thing my wife still has her cough medicine even though her pneumonia is over, so I've been taking a bit of that (mmm, ephedrine) along with some NSAIDs to make it easier on me (mostly aspirin though, since it works best on me and isn't as dangerous on the liver as some of those others).

OMG!  Go see a doctor!  If it's a bacterial pneumonia, it'll just be a simple x-ray and a prescription for a course of anti-biotics.  In and out in no time.  I got hit really hard (three weeks as well) coming back from CES.  See the doctor, do what must be done, and be well my friend!

No doubt, all the best mastering in the world wouldn't help the latest stuff. I actually dislike their new style however I know that they are aiming at a new generation while forgetting us fans of their older stuff. And to anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about: Red Hot Chilli Peppers and their new direction.

Yeah I also hate going to Doctors. Just never liked being around them, especially just nearly avoiding surgery when I was very young (was a miracle the day of surgery)....

Yeah, I'm tired as well, but not to an extreme level. I don't think it's mono (mono as in mononucleosis?) actually. What I do however suspect is streptococcus, since the kindergarten where we have our kids has had bad outbreaks of that this winter.

Most doctors are just fine and I have nothing against them personally, or anything like that. I just often feel that I'm taking up space from someone who really needs help if I go there, and feel a bit ashamed. You know the feeling "Oh, I've just had a cold for a couple of weeks, another week and it'll be over by then - better help this old fellow here who can barely walk" <-- that kind of feeling. Also, it's rarely good news when I go to the doctors, so I guess my brain goes "I know this place, this is where they deliver bad news so best stay out of here and avoid bad news" kind of illogical "logic".

I read about it! Must've been awful, and I think Tyll also got something from that CES show.

Snus is lovely ... Do you snus? I'm actually going to quit snus in a week or so. An old promise I made to wife last fall when I ordered my last snus order (which just happened to be... quite a few rolls rolleyes.gif), and now they know it at my work so everyone is kind of on me "This is your last snus, right?". (FYI, I have about 3 tins left from that order).

Oh well, I'm going back to the couch now. I'll see you guys later...! Thanks for the get-well-wishes.

I had swollen lymph nodes. I was like around 7 I think at that time. It just appeared out of nowhere when I was playing with my friend Crystal. She started screaming when she saw it. It just puffed up humongous right in front of her. I went through several, several tests, cat scans. 100s of shots in my chin. They were scraping at the bone. Kept telling me just one more.... OMG.... lol. Finally they decided I'd have to go for surgery after all that.. I was so scared. Even had to watch that video on it.... The day came for surgery and it was gone. The doctors didn't understand either lol. Wasn't explainable. I give God all the credit :).

Apparently in 29 US states you can be fired for being gay.

....And people wonder why I don't post YouTube videos of myself.

From that same article, I was struck by this:

Destin Holmes, now 16, was in middle school when a teacher divided the class into two groups -- boys versus girls -- for a quiz game. The teacher told Destin, an out lesbian who dresses in baggy sweatshirts and track pants, to sit in the center of the class because she was neither male nor female, Destin told me. "Literally, there was girls on this half, the boys on this half -- and I was in the middle," she said. "Instead of participating and getting my grade for the day, I laid my head down (and) cried."

Not only is that a horrible thing to do to someone (singling them out and putting them in the middle to be gawked at on all sides), but it also shows a pretty big conflagration of gender and orientation.

Yep nasty Mono :P. Ever since having that my throat has been much more susceptible to irritation. So I have to be careful  to avoid infections as it's easier to get them now....

lol it's nothing personal either. I just don't want to go see them :P. Also don't want to hear bad news as well as take up space :P.

Simple minded pecker-woods. "He who is without sin cast the first stone". It's so easy to judge yet not judge oneself....

Gawd go see a doctor! And get better!  Sheesh. You'll feel even more sheepish when you go to the doctor and he/she says "You've let this go on for 3 weeks?!"

Do people actually wonder that?

You make it sound like posting youtube videos is normal behaviour and not the product of some kind of histrionic personality disorder or some kind of commercial-narcissism complex.

And yes, that is some sad stuff. Come to Australia! Or better yet let's all move to Canada and join Digitalfreak in a cabin in the woods all Ted Kaczynski like.

Mahhhh, it's almost 9 am and I have to jump in my monkey suit and fix breakfast

@ Warren
About your comment involving me getting even more new gear. Lets just say although its not exactly new I do have a deal in the works. Only time will tell if it actually bares fruit action

@a_recording
1. Love the quick write up on the new FAD. I think you should get yourself logged into CYMBA and start submitting

2, You're all more them welcome to join me in Canuckville but I can guarantee you you'll have just as many rednecks amongst the snow drifts if not more as you have anywhere else.

Ugh.

Plus, I read about british transwoman teacher the other day who got bullied by the Daily Mail, and wound up committing suicide.

Not a good week for news.  :(

On the upside, I'm now one more piece of gear down the rabbit hole....

No... what that shows is that there are some members in the "Department of Education" that need some 'educating'....

That was actually my point --- and not just people in education, but people in general.

People are generally dumb. I've come to accept that.
