I have the velours too.

How much of a difference does it make with the velours? I find it interesting that people who have the HE-400 and the HE-500 all seems to prefer the velours over the stock ear pads.

However just in terms of raw intensity this takes the cake. Like, several orders of magnitude higher than what I assumed it would feel like. Worse than any tooth-related pain which surprised me (as for some reason I'm super-sensitive about anything mouth related). The only saving grace was that it lasted about four minutes tops. Any longer and I would have most certainly passed out from it.

First time I've heard about passing kidney stones in this forum.
Girl or guy,the stone is trying to pass out of the same opening and it truly is an exquisite pain.
Jagged, quartz like crystals with spikes on the end, leaving you in a fetal position on the floor - think small treble fish hook jammed up your urethra, slowly being drawn out in reverse.
A crystallized ball of pain to bring to your doctor, unless you can get to the hospital emergency, where they hook you up to a morphine drip,if you have a history of kidney stones.
Ureteral stone is a kidney stone that has left the kidney and moved down into the ureter and you will never forget the experience.

On the topic of pain thresholds,I will vouch for Eye Adenovirus,no treatment other than to place a warm compress over the affected eyes and live out the brutal agony that comes with the two week+ cycle.
Due to the length and severity of the eye related pain,it was a match for the horrific kidney stone, simply takes you unwillingly to another place out of this world.
Thank God for alcohol.
Best Wishes my Girl and partner in pain, shall you nevermore pass through those steely gates...

If that's not a song lyric, I think there's something you need to tell Mupps.  wink.gif

I think so.  Everyone seems to have fallen silent about it lately.  Time to mix it up then?

Man, I knew that amp was going to be trouble for me the first moment I laid my eyes on it.  Not quite ready to go there yet, but it just looks the business.

There will be more meets.  Not to mention a homecoming.  wink.gif

1) Will visit my library late tonight to see what 5 tracks I'd contribute if we move on it...

2) I already know in advance that I'm going to be feeling beside myself. And dare to say confused as to what to do first and with whom. It might all become overwhelming, leaving me with the desire to simply wait in the dark... and keeping silent. And then go out and lose my mind the following weekend impromptu style - where ever I happen to be, just doin' it like I know I can! evil_smiley.gif

Okay, I'll do the same and have five tracks picked out.  Even if Driver feels better, maybe we can send it someone else's way?

I know what you mean by the feeling of being in limbo, and then on the precipice.  Big changes are like that.  Not to get all Polonius on you - but as long as you stay you, it's all good.  BTW, I might be coming up in late April for a conference.

Wait a sec, for the mix tape is the minimum 5 submissions? I thought the minimum was 2?

LOL!  No, we're talking about a different playlist.  Silent and I are working on a pain management playlist formerly for Mupps, and currently for Driver 8 and others.  You're free to contribute the most relaxing, pain relieving music you know of for that one.  I don't believe there is a limit on that playlist per se.

For the Diary's mixtape, I suppose the minimum is technically 0, although 1 would be the minimum required for participation.

Swamped with the Lazy, so someone need to PM me the posts that people submit for the mixtape/ :P

Not made easier since not a lot of people use at least #mixtape.

It seems to even out the FR a good bit. The stock pleathers seem more cavernous (not in a good way) vs the velours.

First impressions of the HE-500...it's remarkably similar to the HD600, with slightly more shimmer to the sound and slightly more visceral bass impact. I also thought "wow, so these are the Ortho Mids everyone talks about..." Vocals are about as magical as on the HD600, but the HD600's way of warmly embracing you with the singer's voice is absent here.

I'll write a full comparison this weekend in between fitful bouts of studying for my exam on Monday.

Perhaps, my #mixtape entry - Sheila Chandra "From a whisper... to a scream" could stimulate the recovery for MuppetFace; driver 8.

Yeah, I was thinking the same as it was so chill.  smile.gif  Got two birds with one marshmallow on that one.  Maybe Gesso's Guitar Song by Mystic Rhythms Band would call upon the spirits for some healing as well...

These sales are going faster than I thought they would.  So far I seem to be selling my LCD-2's, RS1i's, W4S DAC-2, HM801, Lyr, and Cute Beyond.  I'm kind of disappointed my HA160-D, CLAS, and RX MK3-B haven't garnered any interest yet, though.

Update added to my VBlog channel. Have a gander at my 4A's as well as my very early impressions on them in the descriptions section. I've added some background music but YT still hasn't updated the changes so I'm guessing everything will be updated with an hour or so. In the meantime enjoy.

I could use some healing myself... thanks for the contribution! biggrin.gif
