In those scenarios I just gave up and skipped to the most recent page lol. Too much to read :P. Speaking of billy what ever happened to him? He use to make the thread more lively. Same as Ob.

One of the greatest TV shows of all time is gonna be a movie, sign up and help them, and get some movie swag to boot! I signed up earlier, and I guess we (my wife and I) are going to fly out for the premier and hobnobbing with Kristin Bell and others, that should be a lot of fun. biggrin.gif

Sign up and at least get a T-shirt or something.

TANGSTER. COME BACH.

At one point I think this thread use to be faster than even that thread.... :P It's actually gotten slower since the days of old....devil_face.gif

By old, you mean?  Was I here yet?  Or was it even before my time?

LOL, as if being awake somehow slowed the rate of posts... but I like how you're thinking with the mind over matter stuff.  smile.gif  Obobs also had a habit of making REALLY LONG posts... so factoring that in as a multiplier, it could have been the equivalent of 300 posts.

It's not entirely unlikely that we've solved the world's problems once (or twice over)... hence the song I dedicated to this thread.

I believe that was The Great Diary Thread Schism-Massacre-and-Pancake-Breakfast of 2012.  And if I'm to be honest, I think I might have caused all that, or not.  redface.gif

Yeah I think so.  I lurked for a while.  The way jz9chen is lurking now.  Yes jz9chen, I see you there in the currently viewing box.  It takes a little while to make sense of this thread.  One does not just start posting, because then it's all ::cue vinyl scratch and dead silence::

Ahhh back amongst old friends in the diary thread.

@Ardgedee

Thanks a lot for your comments on the Heir Audio thread they put some stuff in better perspective

@lee730

Same goes your way buddy

Anyways, this morning if any of you heard whimpering coming from the north that was probably me. I was having a devil of a time trying to keep seal on my new 4A's. After a lot of crying and me running to the Heir Audio thread to cry on the Heir Head clans collective shoulders I think I may have possibly figured out what I was doing wrong. Do I have a proper fit? Not really sure to be honest. After reading some suggestions and tests to perform to test for seal on the Heir thread I've been sitting here for about 30 or 40 minutes and my new CIEM's seem to be keeping their seal. I'm going to give my other gear a wrest for a week or two and see whether these CIEM's work for me seal wise. I have 30 days so I'm not going to jump the gun until I'm sure I know for certain whether I need a refit or not. I'm thinking maybe my inexperience involving inserting them properly was probably a factor. My overriding concern is to make sure these CIEM's are able to keep seal while I'm walking.

@Ardgedee

These things are sounding fantastic and I understand now why you're so fond of them. I'm giving Audioslave a good listen on them right now and I'm enjoying the experience. I'm especially surprised how they handle sibilance so well. Barely any SSSSS so far.

I did not, but when you didn't say anything here I knew something had to be wrong.  frown.gif  Just out of curiosity, what would a refit cost?  Another audiologist trip and a whole bunch of shipping charges right?

Refits are generally free as long as you do them within the first 30 days of receiving the IEM itself (but you have to cover shipping to and from them). Refits are different from Reshells though. They'll try to adjust/shave/add parts of the shell to help the user obtain a proper fit. If all else fails they may resort to an entire reshell depending on the severity of the issue and in that you'll need to get new impressions done.

@DigitalFreak. I'm glad they seem to be working out for you now. Still as you mentioned, the it's always good to just state the truth instead of buttering things up in a pile of horse $$$t. :)

I've always wondered how they know what to correct. Based on what you explain or do you need to send new prints ?

Okay, good to know.  I think I'm still a ways from it, but I just know that I'm going to be a total spaz when I get my first customs.

My first customs left a lot to be desired. The fit was OMG painful... :(

Thankfully the 8As weren't the same way in regards to fit. But the experience with them in terms of customer support/satisfaction was just as bad :(....

The audiologist who did my impressions said if my CIEM's didn't fit to come back and he would redo them free of charge. I would probably have to ship out at my cost and I'm guessing Heir would cover shipping on their end. What worries me is UPS hitting me all over again with duty and fees again. I paid 96 bones in fees and duties to get these little babies. I think I just messed up trying to insert them though. It's going on an hour since I got home from work and they've kept seal so far are still comfortable to wear and the music is sounding pretty good. I'm going to take them to work again tomorrow and try being a little more careful in inserting them from now on.

Well when I attempted the first refit on my Custom TF10s I was directed to mark the areas I felt were problem areas using a permanent marker and they would buff it down I guess? Situations will vary though as some will need material added to the piece to give a proper seal opposed to removing parts of the shell. I guess you'd use a similar method regardless or marking those problem areas :).
