I get this feeling of a could shoulder when I was posting recently in the ADx thread about the AD900X like, maybe not being the most amazing headphone ever - though its a good headphone for $200.

To be fair, he seems to really enjoy his gear.

TBH, I think it's just a matter of time.  I believe there was a recent deal on the AD900X, and I think a fair portion of the people who purchased might still be waiting for their units to arrive.  So it makes sense that they'd be understandably apprehensive enough to visit the thread (and even post), but obviously not yet qualified to discuss it in a meaningful way.  I myself tend to clam up when people start talking about gear that I haven't owned (or heard in an adequate setting).  smile.gif

You mean Dsnuts?  He's a riot, got nothin' but love for him.  And bless his little nuts, he does seem to be on a mission to save budget-fiers a buck or two.  But if you're talking about someone else... then I think the other guy could chill out a bit.  Being crass only works when it's actually funny right?

EDIT:  Well it appears that I have forgotten about Daylight Savings Time, and I now find myself with an extra hour that I previously haven't accounted for.  Must find something to do...

panda mkIII has given up on trying to go back and read the posts. Speaking of the ADxx00x series, how does the flaggy sound like?

Hmm I get the oppurtunity with this new pair of FXD80-Z's to listen to the left channel of the new and old pair simultaneously.

Result: They sound different. Therefore burn in is not a myth. Everyone pack up and go home!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, I wonder if my new pair sounds less bassy because of production variation - or actually because of burn in. Only time will tell!

Certainly I'm getting driver flex issues on the right channel I never got on the old pair.

What's the deadline for mixtape submissions?  I dunno what I want to share because I feel like a lot of music I listen to fits that theme/I haven't been listening as much lately because I haven't been going out much.

I'd help with that, but shipping across the Pacific would be cost prohibitive... frown.gif

I too think burn-in is not a myth, though it's not as drastic a change as most people seem to think it is.  And it's not always a good thing.  In the one pair of cans I have where burn-in was most pronounced, I felt it sounded worse rather than better.  Oh well...

I've been wracking my brain the last little while trying to think up a good track with a lot of repetition and the best I can come up with genre wise would be something from my trance collection. The problem is the vast majority of what I have although repetitive to a certain extent I wouldn't class as overly repetitive enough for this mix tape exercise. Out of the few I was able to scrounge up in my library the vast majority I didn't want to post because I really wouldn't class them as good enough for a mix tape or they didn't mean much to me as a music fan that I would bother, read album filler. The music above I quite enjoy though and I'm hoping it's a perfect fit. Although there's a bit of musical side elements being thrown in here and there throughout pretty much 90% of the song the beat does not change and the listener has pretty much gotten the general idea of the song after the first couple of minutes. I hear this song everyday non stop for about 30 to 45 minutes in the morning when I take my morning walk to work because 1) it's mellowing enough and soothing enough to clear my mind before starting my workday and 2) because the beat is so constant and never changing it's easy for me to pace myself when power walking as well as control my breathing. My apologies if it isn't good enough. I know the song is a little long but if you trim away most of it and turn it into a sound clip of say 1 or 2 minutes I think it would work quite well.

Hope nobody minds me cluttering up the thread with a couple of random pictures. When it comes to photography I'm a total dunce at it. If the pic isn't to dark it's to bright or blurry or the object/person I'm trying to photograph looks off center or the camera was slightly tilted so everything looks slightly crooked. Sometimes though when I least expect it and when I'm not even trying I luck out and take a picture I can actually say looks pretty good. This morning on a beautiful clear sunny day with a touch of winter nip in the air while waiting to take over my bus I glanced down the street at the busiest corner in my city and thought " man that would make a nice picture". On a lark I grabbed my iPhone out of my jacket and fired up a camera app I downloaded a few days ago hit the zoom feature and started tapping away. The end result was surprisingly quite good. Everyone check out below our second largest highrise in Winnipeg the TD Bank Building which is situated smack on the corner of our two busiest streets Portage and Main. I know this is an international crowd and I'm sure the American Asian and European folk have probably seen first hand or at least seen pics of grander buildings but I personally think it's a rather nice example of modern building architecture. I especially like how the sun was gleaming off the upper part of the building when I snapped the photos.

Well, I don't want to hold anyone up, is all.  Personally I'll probably just opt out if I can't choose something in the next day or two.  I was mainly wondering if so many were popping up because you wanted them today or something.

I'm not sure anyone ever mentioned a time frame now that I think about it.  I think it's pretty much wide open.  I honestly don't have an opinion one way or another... other that to say it shouldn't be like weeks or anything.  smile.gif
