The diary entries of a little girl in her 30s! ~ Part 2 - Page 486

Decided to go with sort of a candy apple red for my GS-X v2. It's not quite as dark as most candy apples, but close enough, IMO. Justin has done this color before on a Pico and it looks great. The GS-X will look even better because of the clearcoat added on top.

Honestly, I only started the tour to counter the BS on the main thread. I opened a second thread because one of them reported me for "thread-crapping", which must be a new synonym for "telling the truth", and i could no longer post there.

A true case of the emperor's new clothes, if I've ever seen one.

Sometimes I'll come across a hyped pair of headphones that just isn't for me, but I can understand how others would enjoy them. Other times I'll listen to something getting a lot of hype and think it's alright but nothing special.

In this case however I can't fathom how anyone would enjoy listening to these. They're literally painful and upsetting.

Sexy. I imagine that will look good with your black HD800.

I'm considering getting a GS-Xmk2 in the same seafoam color as my BHSE to have a matching set.

Pretty red color. Reminds me of the new AK100 color.

That is exactly how I felt about the EX1000. Different strokes for different folks. At least the graphs reflect exactly what I heard on the EX1000s though. wink_face.gif

@DF: While it's a better DAC, the NAD M51 doesn't look as good in my setup as the W4S DAC-2 used to.  I also had to put my bonsai in a window because it wasn't getting enough light :/ .

If peaky, sibilant treble was the only thing wrong with the T-Peos then I could understand why it was popular.

Speaking of colors, check out the Paradox with color-change paint:

Really weird. I'm with Eke in that I trust Flysweep's ears too, so I'm pretty surprised that both pairs of H100s Eke ordered turned out to be duds. Especially given that Fly also values a neutral presentation. This is currently throwing me for a loop. I will just chock it up to the H100s generating a reality distortion field that has rendered all of its listeners temporarily insane.

Anyway, just got word that my Flat-4s are out the door. Which tips work well with them? I'll have a few days to order any tips If needed

Maybe eke was just really unlucky? His recent HD600 score could be the pendulum swinging the other way.

Regarding tips for the Flat4, I recommend sticking to the Complys. They were engineered with them in mind for some bizarre reason, so they tend to sound best with them in my experience. Using silicon tips seems to make the Flat4 sound too bright.

Complys?

I got a box of those, never took much of a liking to them, reminds me of being at the audiologist with an ear full of impression material frown.gif

That's news to you? Aw man, I mentioned it in my impressions for them 'n' stuff. It's on the Ocharaku site too! : x

You know how phones typically ship out with the worse set of tips imaginable for them, and you end up tip rolling for days to strike that perfect balance? I was expecting that :l

No biggie, maybe I'll get along with them using some good ol' Sony hybrids... Which... The Ex600 has blessed me with a lifetime's supply of. I hope so anyway? Although..hmmm, you mention that the treble can possess some glare at times, and Complys are notorious for absorbing highs like a blackhole, damn, F-4s with hybrids must be like staring at the sun haha

It actually changes color from purple to green and visa versa depending on the angle, basically known as "chameleon paint." Sort of like an Alexandrite.

LOL, feel free to rip into me now bro.  biggrin.gif

My interest is wink.gifgenuine. I've been trying to come to terms with my new addition HD650. Wanted something to compliment my highly enjoyable D7000 inside the listening room. Also, we are evaluating these cans at the same time, so your experience has my attention.

My experience with the Senns, however, has been difficult due to my inability to get decent head time in with any consistency. Also, I hope to learn more about your direction - what gears (amps/dacs/cans) are on your "Hit list" to acquire.

Post Script.:  I'm so sleepy! Just looked at your Profile and saw your Wish List.rolleyes.gif
