You mean a pix of my fav inside the collection at home? Just got back from thetongue_smile.gif Goodie Store - we're having Dulce de Leche with Ol' fashion bread pudding. Gotta new DVD "Get Better Sound" by Jim Smith...we fixin' to work it out! My fellow members at Computer Audiophile been pushing me a bit, finally found some spare change in the tea tin to buy it.

^^ It looks as if the black's almost transparent eek.gif

Nothing will convince me that that's not worth whatever you paid for it.

BTW, I think the version I worked up for Obobtober a while back is kinda genius in it's own right:

Haven't posted at CA in ages!  Almost forgot it was still around.  I should check in and see what's up.

Thanks. Last summer I was devastated over this model. I do gifts at my home...a lot. Throughout the year, I'm always gathering-purchasing-looking for small gifts. Then when I have guests over for food, drink or leisurely reading, I surprise them as they're about to walk out at the end of the visit.

But this doesn't always work - my lady friends often see some of my possessions and start the charm (...flame on!) "Ooh, can I have this?!" Many of my precious Gaiwans got away clean mad.gif on the wings of beauty.

And the kicker?

popcorn.gif

The tea house no longer make this model - one with similar treatment but different styling. AND these friends don't even drink tea!

deadhorse.gif

But, it's the thought that counts, I suppose...

I think it would be best to simply mention how much they cost and their rarity. But maybe I'm just tight in refusing to gift things that are important to me.

I feel you need to find new lady friends. Anyone who enters your house and asks for your possessions in my opinion, no matter how close you are, quite ill mannered. As a guest there are certain protocols you should follow when someone hosts you. These are just my beliefs though, please don't take it as I'm to force my views on you at all, it just seems so very wrong to ask to take something of someone else's. Even as family I don't believe you should go beyond asking to borrow something.

I don't like the sound of these friends already.

Strangely these happens with my IEMs alot. Except they don't ask beforehand. Still wondering where those XBA-1s are.

I would be as rude as possible in return.

I just got home from work. Today for whatever reason was completely nuts. For most of the afternoon I was overflowed by shoppers and after the malls thankfully closed I was swamped all over again with crazy kids all hyped up about going to the bar. When those bars close I feel sorry for whoever is out on those streets driving because I can guarantee you it's not going to be pretty. The police will have their hands full with rowdy drunks and drunk drivers. Thank God I'm home before the insanity breaks loose.

Has anyone listened to the Avatar or Inception soundtrack. I'm wondering if it's worth investing in and adding to my collection. I really love the Tron Legacy soundtrack can anyone recommend anything along those lines?

Some quick responses:

Yes. When I am in Hong Kong they think I'm from overseas or from mainland China. It's sorta embarassing but eh.

I'm the same way, I've visited Portugal 4 times and the second I open my mouth people ask me where I'm from. When I ask how they know I wasn't raised in Portugal they answer the way I pronounce my words is all wrong for someone whose spent his whole life in Portugal.

It is a funny story actually because I started argueing with fanboys and "The Wizard" himself on the thread. I was just pissed off about a lot of things: all the Heir fans claim that Heirs are unsurpassed all the time, even if they do not have other customs, and sometimes haven't received their Heir yet ! Plus the marketing of Heir here on headfi I found a bit aggressive. Besides, I don't really connect with "The Wizard" too much, must be the nickname. Anyhow, he was very polite and nice, so I decided one day or the other I was going to check what the fuss is about. And just then the 5.0 was announced, with reputedly 90% of 8.a SQ at half the price. I contacted the Wizard, considered it for a while and just pulled the trigger as such universals have good resale value if I do not like them. But I really want to be able to compare "supreme Heir Quality" and "Heir SQ" with other products I have...

Wait and see, I might become a Heir Fanboy too...

Oh edit...everybody is raving about the design of the second picture you posted...To my taste, on of the ugliest iems I have ever seen. I do like the first one though (Buckeye Burl).

Yeah I vaguely remember you being on the thread. Good luck with the 5A IEM's. I hope they are worth the money you spent on them. Once you get them please do feel free to come back onto this thread and leave some impressions. I'm waiting on a pair of 4A's which are my first pair of CIEM's. I'm keeping my own fingers crossed I pulled the trigger on the right pair of CIEM's. Also thanks for the heads up on the availability of the 5A's. I didn't know they were up on the Heir site I'll give it a quick look.

There's a new channel called Arly Borg that shows promise.  wink.gif

I keep a close eye on that channel. Trust me the guys a complete bum. His next video will probably be a silent AKG Sextette video followed by a bedroom rig video showing off all his ghetto-fi cans wink_face.gif

I like the Avatar soundtrack. Not heard the inception one though, didn't buy it because I didn't really like the film. I'd get the Hobbit OST, for more Howard Shore loveliness.

That is a beautiful object, not sure I would trust myself to drink tea from it.

BTW any good threads on computer audiophile? Most of the time I visit that site I just see the masses of noob thread spawn "how do I play music from my mac?" Again and again and I just give up. There are a few gems though, like the thread on USB transports, but sooooo much garbage to wade through...

I tend to agree with this, only very young children would ask for things, it does seem very rude to me as it puts the owner of the item in an uncomfortable position.

I feel like I have things going on with a person right now, which, if anyone's paid any attention to my more personal posts here and there, they'd certainly know that's a change of pace.

It's long distance, but not terribly so. I'm going to see her in a few weeks and she's talked about driving over here.

I haven't had a good listening session in awhile now. I should get on that, but iuno what I want to listen to.
