It's going to be an expensive end to the month for a few of us I think...

I just remembered one thing that we should decide before doing this. Someone needs to be a "Theme master". Personally, I think it'd be a great idea to change all these responsibilities each time, so we can take turns and no one has to do more than anyone else. So, someone could be a theme master now, and then appoint next weeks/months theme master, and so on.

I don't mind being the one to come up with themes for the playlists, but if you guys would rather change it up every week or two that's fine as well. Only problem with that I foresee is not everyone wanting to be in that position or being around all the time.

Huh... maybe it's just my imagination, but AnakChan seems reluctant to actually compare the TH600 to the TH900. Seemed more like a TH600 versus Signature Pro review.

I mean, I get that he doesn't want to compare it to the TH900 because he feels it's unfair, but the main point for me was to get an idea for how the tonal balance of the TH600 compares in a general sense. I've sort of given up hope that the TH600 is less bassy than the TH900 however. Also I really don't think it's that unfair to compare the TH600 at half price because let's face it: a lot of the TH900's higher price comes from the lacquer cups and luxury materials. If you had the same materials on both how much more would the TH900 really be?

"I won't really say that one has more bass or treble quantity than the other, nor ones mid more recessed, laid/pulled back from the other."

....Those were pretty much the main details I was hoping to read about LOL.

Towards the end he did say

However, the tables are turned when the TH-600 is compared to the TH-900. The older bigger brother gives a bigger sound. Despite having the basic similar tonal signature, the TH-900 is more expansive, even greater soundstage, imaging, and more immersive. That's where the almost-double price show it's true value (instead of the Urushi cups as most may think).

His raw notes also say a bit about the 600 vs 900. I think he's trying to make people read between the lines. So anyone think we'll see a TH-300 later on in the year? Maybe something in the say 350 to 500 price bracket?

Yeah, you sort of ninja'd me as I edited my post.

I'm not so convinced personally that the TH900's price is mostly for its sound. And that's coming from a very dedicated TH900 fan.

Dammit. The image of this made me LOL in class. I had to disguise it with a boisterous cough.

I imagines the bank book with a war painted face, with tiny stick arms and a machete that's several times the size of its body.

Well, 84k yen is a bit too rich for my blood, so I'm not worried there. But for 33k yen .... the Flat-4 SUI isn't such a hard hit to the bank, my mind said to me irrationally. And, it continued, I do have people owe me money.

I want to say that I can help, but I'm more of a reactionary person, and not really good at making up themes. That's why I'm only the poll runner for the TMAC and not the ones with the crazy idea for every month. :P

A bit out of the blue, but would someone like to explain in layman's terms the difference between dynamic, electrostatic, and planar magnetic drivers to me? I tried reading the innerfidelity article on orthos and that just when whoooooooooosh.

Scroll down in this review to part 4, where it talks about the different types of drivers:

Yeah sorry about that we seem to be playing post editing tag with one another. Personally, I was sort of expecting a slightly less refined TH-900 while in the back of my mind I was hoping they would throw out the 900 sound and maybe try something completely different and go for a great sounding 1000 dollar neutral. The questions I have in my mind after Anak's review is exactly how much of a difference there is between the 600 and 900? I think you'll be the one to answer that for me once you get your own TH-600 and post your own review.

I just about fell over laughing when I read that. I stopped reading after that part because I doubt I could keep it together enough to finish the article without giving myself a heart attack from laughing so hard.

Some people find anal stimulation pleasing, be it sex or coffee enemas.

Also you absorb some substances very well directly through the lining of your bowels, which is why some drug addicts will "plug" to get their fix. I get the feeling that these people are getting a rush both from the sensation of the act, but also because they're getting a "direct shot" of caffeine. I suppose it's less dangerous than mainlining it LOL.
