The diary entries of a little girl in her 30s! ~ Part 2 - Page 412

Hey guys, when I saw the video below I couldn't help but think of some of the gamer crowd on this thread. Check out some of the crap joysticks kids like me in the 80's had to play with. I actually remember being a teen seeing the Terminator joystick in the video game stores and I remember my buddy using a Cheater joystick similar to the one in the video. Have a look at the video and have a good laugh at the campy crappy gaming gear 80's teens had to put up with.

Here are two of our cats.

There's also a very cranky old cat (16) and the ginger's tannish brother

You know, McDonalds may serve crap food but when I heard they had Transformer figurines I just had to go grab a couple of my favorite Decepticons

You know, regarding that mixtape post, maybe youtube is the simplest of them all (when there's a video of it though). Post here, along with the wall of text of "why this is my favourite" and then people can just make a public playlist that can be shared here. Easy (until some company goes on a DMCA rampage on youtube).

I'd stay far away from that one.

No pet at home, but I seem to meet like-minded furry company everywhere I go on vacation. wink.gif

Those articles that talk about "good headphones for women" always leave out the SR-007mk1 and LCD-2 rev.1.

I've come to appreciate these two headphones as something of a woman's best friend, as during that certain time of the month when headaches are more prevalent and one's mood is on-edge, they really are fantastic things to have around. On the other hand, I want to throw anything with bad treble peaks out the window during those times.

On another note, there's something about the Joe Grado HP1000 I can't quite put my finger on, a certain subtle something that elevates it beyond many other dynamic transducers for me. Sure, it has plenty of positive attributes. Most of them---its exquisite balance, for instance---are more immediately discernible. What seals the deal for me however is that elusive attribute, that little extra something I seem to feel exists.

As odd as it may sound, it's a quality that reminds me of IEMs; it's a delicacy and finesse present in some of the best of them.

Hello, since you guys all seem pretty straightforward, I wanted to ask you a question : does it not seem that some people on headfi like audio equipment much more than they like music? This seems odd to me.

It's entirely possible that some people are only interested in the equipment and not at all in the music. But on the whole, interest is not a finite resource to be rationed and distributed conservatively; people discuss equipment here because it is the forum for discussing the equipment, and the music discussions take place on the music forums elsewhere.

Strange you would bring up articles concerning good headphones. I just came from the AskMen site after checking out an article titled Top Ten Best Headphones. Their number 1 rated headphone....Urbanears Plattan.....they beat out the HD700 and the AKG K550.

700

Well, the Plattan is fairly inexpensive and comes in just about any color you can imagine. Sure the sound quality isn't great, but then I personally find the K550 a wholly unpleasant listen and it costs several hundred bucks. So in a way I find the Plattan less offensive.

That being said, I'm having a difficult time trying to decipher just what criteria that guy was using when compiling his list. Seems to be all over the place, with no rhyme or reason behind it.
