Eh, the ad itself isn't really worth even talking about imo, as it's kind of predictable. The funniest part for me is how foreveralone some of those reactions are.

This is the internet, ma'am. This is where the foreveralones live long and prosper. Seeing foreveralone comments in an internet forum, that's also male dominated, shouldn't come as a surprise or even noteworthy, ma'am.

I sometimes wonder what the Velvet Underground could have accomplished with modern electronics. At the same time I'm kind of glad they didn't have the chance. Because on the one hand the pulsing grind of "I'm Waiting for My Man" could never have been possible with anything other than what they used for the job: A mix of decent-quality recording studio equipment and whatever musical equipment their patron spotted them. But on the other hand, what else would they have changed if they were using distortion pedals, electronic multi-effects boxes, and high-output guitar pickups? Did they work hard to make the recording sound like this, or is the result in spite of their intentions?

It's a VU morning, incidentallly. I haven't heard the entire Peel Slowly and See box set for a couple years, so that's my soundtrack for the day. Although I might skip some of Loaded.

That's what I was getting at -- I mean ha ha ha, a picture of a girl with low cut shirt getting tons of comments by all the dudes? Classic! What a riot!

Except this isn't the man's club, it's more like a bunch of drooling boys, which is the sad and dumb part of it. They're practically serious in their fawning.

It just struck me that Lou Reed's "There She Goes Again" would, with a different arrangement, been a passably convincing late-60s Bob Dylan number.

I am half-convinced the UHA-6S sounds a little smoother now that Leckerton's returned it.

It should still have its original op-amps in it; I ordered a variety from Nick but didn't ask him to swap any before shipping the amp back. Won't be able to check until this weekend.

Yes, yes. However not all corners of the Internet are as dank and smelly as others, and not all foreveralones are as pathetic as others. There's a continuum (hence my saying "how foreveralone"). I'd say posting about fapping to a picture of a girl---dressed fairly reasonably---wearing a pair of earphones and listening to an iPod is kind of a new extreme in the context of head-fi.

I'm especially fond of the strategically placed headphone cable and the bare foot in the shot of the last photo, just to make sure we've covered all the bases.

In all honesty though I have no idea if it's for comic relief of if it's because he really wanted a lot of people to see it.

Probably both.

Hey, that gives me an idea! In my WTB: HE60 ad maybe I'll post some pictures of myself wearing a pair SR-009s with the ribbon cable running down my shirt, barefoot, sitting on the sofa bitting my bottom lip.

Well obviously the eye candy has paid off and got his ad a lot of attention. Not sure if it will really help in selling the item though.... tongue.gif

His comment on Currawongs ad for the DX100 was a laugh as well lol ;).

Reminds me of the standard trope of Ebay/Craigslist sellers posing their girlfriend alongside the guitars and amps they're selling. Leading to inevitable complaints that the girl's in the way and they can't see some particular important detail or another in the equipment.
