All food is just a conveyance vehicle for the transportation of tomatoes from my plate/bowl to my mouth.   Ketchup on burgers, red spaghetti sauce, salsa.  Pretty much nothing else matters.

Wait, what's wrong with a tomato and a salt & pepper shaker?  That's glorious in and of itself right?

It beats eating two 8oz jars of capers in 4 days (and drank the brine), then giving the excuse, "but they're low in calories" (ignoring the fact she ate 20x the RDA of salt).

That a LOT of capers in a short period of time.  eek.gif  I mean, that scenario could account for the possibility that over 0.5% of her body weight was just capers.

Yeah, I can't say anything about this as I like me some "pickle juice" myself.  redface.gif

Hmm, she weighs 102lbs (4'11" tall) that's not much of a stretch.

Okay, I'll try one last time before resorting to a facepalm.  Look friend, what you're essentially saying is that might makes right.  Actually, by labelling the group-think as "the truth", you're going even further and positing that those in the minority are false (or at the very least wrong).  I cannot even begin to tell you just how uncool that is.

If we were to accept majority opinion as factual truth, then I can tell you that there are a number of things this world should not be (e.g. round, revolving around the sun, etc.).  And yet...

Stop taking one word out of the context man, and try to get the whole picture I am describing it.

And to answer you one last time regarding some of what you said above.

I am not discarding any minority opinion, but essentially if 1 million people say they like something, and you come and say it sucks, I will not consider your remark before considering the other 1 million remarks.

If the minority is bigger, I will consider what they say and test it for myself.

That's quite a bit of hyperbole. 1 group on 1 site does not a majority, or a million, make. Also, FWIW, McDonald's is the #1 restaurant in the world, "billions and billions served", but I won't eat there.

Yeah, let's see if they pull them beforehand. wink.gif Might be a good score, though.

I wonder if third parties are included in the sale, since that listing is on behalf of World Wide Stereo rather than Sears.

The failing of ALL internet "polls" is that they fail to consider the total population. 1 Million people saying they like something really should be said as "1 Million people who responded liked it." That doesn't tell you how many people are actually in the population of customers. Nor does it consider the *reason* why people respond. It's not a random poll of customers - it is the responses by people who cared enough to respond. Look at the reviews on Amazon - they are by and large useless because they generally fall into a couple of categories:

1) People who are justifying their recent purchase by posting all the reasons they picked the product, but very little actual real world experience with it.
2) People who had a problem and are p!ssed-off - regardless of whether the problem was with the product, the vendor or their own misunderstanding of how to use the product properly.

The result is that for very popular products, #1 takes over, the star rating quickly becomes 4+ and you have to hunt for the reviews that are actually discussing experience with the product. For niche or less popular products, #2 takes over and the product will appear much worse than it really is.

In both cases, the number of buyers in the vast silent majority that simply bought the product and are reasonably happy are completely unknown.

Quick question: are Lexicon cd/sacd players high quality? I found one for cheap and wondered if I should go for it. Thanks.

Well I won't always agree. Look in the case of beats, bose etc. That is just a mountain of sheep being led to slaughter. That is the very mantra of today. Getting fixated on "what is in". I could care less & am not into "popularity contests". This very attitude turned me off from music several years ago in actuality beginning with the ipod craze.
