It's a clip that attaches to your belt/backpack for super easy/quick camera storage.

I don't think it's silly, but as A_rec said, make sure you don't bump into things with it on. I like the fact that you can use it as a clip for your tripod as well -- it means less screwing around with ... screws and ... stuff.

I've also seen those straps that you attach to the tripod mount of your camera and use for practically anything (tie around neck, tie around camera as a protection bag, etc.) which seems cool as well. It looks like your solution is more reliable for hiking and adventuring though.

I am using one of those now

It's so convenient, so much better than the BlackRapid camera straps and etc that I used before. No more dangling and swinging around

Plus, you'll feel like a Wild Wild West cowboy drawing his gun whenever you shoot :p

So, I'm planning to go to Riot Fest again this year... so many awesome acts (at least for MY taste! ;)).

Last year I went to Chicago's fest and for this year I had planned to either go to Denver or Toronto (in order to enjoy extra vacation days as well and 'discover' the city, history, etc.) But... but... Chicago's line-up is soooooo awesome and varied. They have: The Cure, The National, Weezer, The Offspring, Wu Tang Clan, Metric, Taking Back Sunday, Bring me the Horizon, Mastodon, Circa Survive, THE GET UP KIDS!! (AAAARRGHHH!!), Face to Face, etc. etc.)

Ugh... not sure if I should go to Chi-town again for the fest and then take vacation days to visit another state or country or what!!!??!!

:(

I still would like to visit some place like New Zealand or something like that but... plaaaneeesss!!! Hate flying! lol

Anyway, that's all I guess.

Got LFF Enigma's at home but of course, my cable has not arrived! How frustrating it is to look at a new headphone and not be able to listen to them. Also got a JVC DX700 which actually sounds quite good but they look horrible and weird (wearing them), and I'm still waiting for my Martin Audio modded Beyer T5Ps. I think I'm at the end of my closed-back headphone journey. Soon I might start getting rid of the ones I have and "clean house".

Finally, I began to get rid of my DVD collection last year and will continue to do so this year. Will probably stick with some fave ones and keep all my Blu Rays. I currently use some racks from a company called Boltz. But they take too much space. I was looking to get something like what can-am offers: http://www.can-am.ca/CD-storage-DVD-storage.htm ... Shipping is almost as costly as these cabinets though... :(

First world problems I guess... I definitely lack some decision-making abilities...

Bye!

Well guys, if it sounds like I'm gushing all over this amp its because I am. I remember Muppet praised it awhile back when it was released and I'm with her The Vali is all that and a bag of chips

gelocks, maybe there is a cruise that goes to New Zealand? Problem solved, imo.

DigitalFreak, apparently the Vali doesn't work here in EU. Apparently it's the same with Modi, imo.

I'm guessing the voltage?

Perhaps, but we use 220 Volts, so we'd have a lot of headroom for 110 Volts, and therefore lots of different (cheap) transformators from 220 V to 110 V. The other way around would perhaps be more difficult.

I'm thinking it has more to do with AC contra DC. I'm actually very unknowledgable about electricity in general, despite having built own radios and so on, so my guess is as good as yours, but if memory serves me well, Schiit themselves said something along those lines. I don't trust my memory though.

NZ is beautiful, I was there last December, did a tour of the South Island.  The one thing I would have like to have done is to do some hiking, I felt limited in my ability to experience the landscape to the full.  I'm considering going back to do some hiking.

Actually chances are if all goes to plan with my new job I might be working on some projects in Christchurch.

discussion of tweaks - read at your own risk (Click to show)

As far as audio goes I have recently picked up some Stillpoints feet.  I recommend a demo if you ever get the chance - they are a huge surprise.  I already knew about the influence of vibrations on gear, but to hear what some of the best components available can do is a revelation.  I was half expecting them to under-perform for the cost, but actually, compared to some of the other peripheral upgrades such as USB transports , cables etc. these offer good value - at least with my setup.  A fully loaded OR5 would cost me close to $3k landed, but I doubt it would be this effective.

I recently took my gear to a head-fi meet, and without all the tweaks, honestly the system sounded dull.  There was some expensive gear at the meet - Calyx Femto, GSX mkii, Invicta DAC, and honestly hooking my laptop up to $8k+ (locally) worth of amp and DAC without all the tweaks, I prefer my home setup by a wide margin.  I don't think this means that tweaks are good value, but rather that to every rule there are exceptions.  Conventional wisdom regarding cost allocation in building a system I would argue has it's exceptions.

Christchurch?

Yes, the place is still a post-apocalypse.  They are starting to rebuild but progress is slow, still lots of vacant lots in the middle of the city, as well as buildings that have been damaged and deemed unsafe to occupy.  There are some interesting architectural responses though, the main shopping complex has been given temporary accommodation in a series of shipping containers.  The idea is hardly new but this is the first example I have seen first hand.

There is also a a business proposing similar strategy for accommodation:

I don't think I will be doing anything similar, but still it would be an interesting opportunity if it comes through.

Those pods and shipping containers look pretty cool, to be honest. The reason they're there in the first place is admittedly less cool. Still, it'd pretty cool if you got to work with something similar.
