And ended up here.
I loathe criticizing people for their taste, so I'm not going to say whether it's good or bad. I'll just say I'm participating in a sideband conversation that, well, enhances the experience.
Welp, I'm officially a believer. All the tube people on these boards weren't talking through their hats. I've had the Gold Lion plugged into my T1 amp for the last hour or so and thus far I'm impressed. Overall, the Gold Lion is a nice step up from the standard issued tube that came with the T1 amp. The music now sounds a lot more smoother without sacrificing detail in the mids. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what I'm hearing but there's three main things I'm noticing thus far. The treble on my headphones seem more refined, the low end seems slightly more full and, still not to sure about this second point, seems to hit harder then it did before. The third point, also not to sure as of yet, is the soundstage seems a hair smaller then it did before. The Q701 seems to sound less thin and note presentation seems slightly thicker if that makes any sense to anyone here. The Alpha Dog now seems more natural sounding and the touch of stridentcy in the treble seems to have been eliminated. So far I'm impressed. Not bad for a poultry investment of 35 bones USD
You two are not the only ones. I was going to say something earlier, but I figured I had to be the only person who thought that. Clearly great minds think alike.
It's probably the whole Friday night thing. It puts one in the mind of pursuing pleasureful activities*. That, or all the "revelations" lately in the Date thread.
*Possibly involving decadent ice cream bars and/or giant wooden horses on wheels.
