Hey guys, I suggest you all hit the LINK and read the following article carefully. The article Scot Hull originally penned on part-time audiophile caused one hell of a manure storm awhile back amongst some of the audio blogs. Me and a few others on audio360 weighed in our own thoughts after the storm died down. I'd be interested to know what the threads local crew (read regulars) might think on our sites comments thread. Looking forward to reading, on here or on audio360, what you all personally think.

It's an interesting article - I think I recall reading similar discussion on innerfidelity or something not so long ago.  I like Warren's response, I think the division between head-fi and hi-fi is more often decided by means - whether budgetary, lifestyle, space or value/performance.  I think most enthusiasts want to experience everything the market has to offer, and compromise as little of the experience of listening to music as possible.  Speaker need more time, space and money all of which are in scant supply, so head-fi is the obvious way to maximise enjoyment high fidelity audio within these limits.  I can't speak much as to the merits of speakers, to this point I haven't been to any hifi shows, meets etc. so hifi is for the most part not something I have directly experienced, so I can't really miss the performance advantages supposedly offered by speakers.

I see there's detachable cables so that's good. But, other than that, I got nothing... Why the miniscule hype?

Well, I dunno, actually --- never even seen the thing myself. I'm just getting hyped up by other people *cough* Warren *cough*.

If the official press release is to be believed, this seems to imply that it is a dynamic driver.

Look like, but I suspect they couldn't be made much smaller and still be grippable. The barrels on the IEMs are pretty gosh-darned tiny, too.
