Bleh, even though the XBA-3 was the one that I liked the most out of the whole XBA series line-up, for the local pricing here in Singapore I would never buy one myself, neither would I recommend them to my friends lol. There are so many dual-driver BA's out there that sounds way better to my ears for their price, compared to the XBA-3. But for USD 100 dollars, I think you still got a pretty good bargain there, good job.
For all the Sony attempts so far in recent yrs, apart from my MDR-EX90/CD2000's I'm very very impressed with what they did for the recent in-ears like the MDR-7550/EX800ST/MDR-EX1000 models. Has fast enough transients/attack for Metal/Rock stuffs, good and punchy bass quality for Electronica/Electro-pop genres and very excellent for Classical/Pop vocals as well. Very hard to fault them unless you have specified issues with them in terms of fit, but the EX monitors manages to fit really well with my ears in terms of ergonomics fit so I really liked my EX800ST, one of my best buys in terms of portable IEMs. Their isolation factor would probably be the only thing I would fault them, if I have to pick out their flaws compared to other IEMs.
And why did you gave the disappointed "sigh" earlier regarding the ATH-ESW11 LTD's prices when I shared them with you? For a limited edition portable cans, you mean you didn't expect that sort of pricing?
Im a High School Student, if I spend 600 dollars on an headphone then my parents would kill me.......
After getting the XBA 3 I still want an IE80 to compare with :P
