The interesting people who sparked the true conversations and debates were banned from the thread a while ago.

Spent my whole evening adapting someone's iris mechanism design for headphone use for 3D printing. If me and my friend can finish designing a custom cup within this month, my Nami-chan is basically being reborn. Man, 3D printing is the best thing to happen since sliced bread.

Outside from our friend music4321, I don't know who you're referring to.

Oh I don't think that's the reason. We used to have long and interesting discussions here, which we don't have as much anymore. This thread has gotten a little slower lately.

Thank you for asking.

I've had serious writer's block for a while, and I've got a lot of stuff I want to talk about, but I just can't get it together. When I see how much time passes between the substantial entries I post, I get pretty bummed about it. All I've been posting about lately is new gear. That kind of thing is all well and good, but when that's the only thing I'm posting about, it's kind of a bummer too.

When it comes to new music I want to post about, it's kind of like your back log of games. I don't get around to it, and it just keeps piling up more and more.

Speaking of gear-related news, the Noble Audio site is up and running.

This is the new company of Wizard, formerly of Heir Audio. Much better name this time around in my opinion. He's retuned most of the previous models that have carried over, and added some new stuff like the Kaiser 10-driver flagship. There's also a line of silicon models now, and I'm particularly interested in the silicon version of the 4-driver.

I seem to be a arsonist of sorts, I'm sure I can start up some fiery debate of sorts? Ofc without brining up Politics, relgieon, sex or making personal attacks

That said, here is a simple question. Who is this thread for?

10-drivers working in unison as one results in what is likely the most coherent sound ever produced by a portable audio product.

^ Could be true for all I know, but I found that kinda funny.

Oooh what printer do you have?

I'm constantly impressed by your drive to do the writing in the first place. Did becoming an academic get you into a regular habit of writing or was it the other way around?

If anything, the highly formalized and purposefully bland style of academic writing made me want to do it less. Granted it was far more regulated when I was still doing psychometric research and test construction, but even in the humanities I find the creative process is kind of a drag.

However I've always---or at least for as long as I can remember--- had a borderline obsessive need to express myself in writing. I'm told by several credible sources that even when I couldn't write, my infantile self would scribble lines on paper and become quite frustrated when others couldn't decipher my toddler cuneiform (to my credit, I've seen several instances of student handwriting that wasn't too far off from such scribblings). My current habits developed mostly in my teenage years, and since that time I've come to depend on writing as a principle means of organizing the thoughts that accumulate during my day-to-day existence. In that sense I suppose writing for me serves a function not unlike dreaming according to some theories of the mind. If I didn't write, I'd probably go mad. Even when I'm not writing something in a semi-coherent paragraph form, I'm making lists and outlines.

Business writing has that effect on me. Only so many reams of TPS reports I can draft before everything looks and feels like it has to be parameterized and exsanguinated.
