Oh ofc man, I don't know how young they are but honestly, if your into music... you've been doing it for like a decade before any one gives you an EP. She is gorgeous, and moves really well. And the vocals are great! [Water me was weird imo... ]

still a great artist! I look forward to seeing what she/they do

To my knowledge she did some other music under another name? Twigs? She has some very interesting music though.

AT&T are bastards. Yea. If I wasn't grandfathered into unlimited data, I'd probably switch on principal.

Giving my Vega its first real extended listen since I got it.

Specifically: Adnaco*/ifi PSU (these are for my USB port, not the interface) -> Vega's USB -> Electra -> SR009's

I don't want to say a whole lot yet because I haven't been at it very long, but I have to say that bass on this DAC has a lot more authority than that of the NAD M51 I used to own and that helps a lot with the SR009's.  That's not to say it's exaggerated or anything, I think the NAD's was actually a bit soft.

This also has the least "Saber Sound" of all the Saber DAC's I've owned.  It's revealing as all hell, but the tonality doesn't really suffer for it from what I've heard so far.

Everything but JRiver playing off an internal HDD (because apparently this matters) has too much jitter for the Exact clock setting to work properly.  That's fairly annoying, but the Fine setting seems far less fussy.  I haven't compared them enough to really speak to their differences yet.  I did notice, however, that that the Exact setting images better than the default Auto setting.

* Just got this guy the other day.  I'm not sure what, if anything, it's really done for my sound yet, but being able to use a decent USB cable from its hub without having to place my DAC next to my PC is neat.  Also, not powering it off my PC.  That's gotta be worth something, right?

ALL telecom companies suck balls. I deal with (or have dealt with) almost all of the US providers - and I hate them all with a burning passion. My hatred is not just confined to cell service providers - cell, cable, landline, data, satellite, voice, data, local, regional, national - you name it - they ALL suck.

Here's the trick: Different companies suck at different levels in different areas and different times. So, even if AT&T is working well this week for someone in the Southwest, they might really suck for someone in the Northeast - and next week it could be completely reversed. There is no "best" or even "good" - there is only "good right here and now, no promises for tomorrow"

^ This is actually making the Sylvania "Bad Boys" I have in the Electra right now feel unnecessary.  I'm going to try my CBS/Hytrons next time.

No promises is right. I'm mad because they actually tried to do a bait and switch. I was floored.

^ Going back to this, I have yet to be bothered by the artifacting various other flaws I'm hearing in a lot of recordings; yeah, it's there, but it's inoffensive.  Sometimes I kinda like it, actually, but I also really love lo-fi music, so take that as you will.

Apparently the Exact setting doesn't like JPlay either.

-Edit-

@Tom: Oh dear, I hope things go alright for you!

20 gallons is a LOT bigger than those things!   Any chance of getting some tiny sharks in there?  Tiny sharks have the cutest little eyes!

Reminds me of these butterfly kits I'd get as a little kid. I'd build this tent and send away for the larva and then watch them hatch into butterflies. I'd always release them in the gardens around my house.

Having cared for aquariums on and off since I was 8, stuff like the above make me cringe a bit. Smaller aquatic environments are actually the hardest to keep regulated, because in captivity aquatic animals produce waste byproducts that contaminate their surroundings. You have to keep the chemicals in the surrounding water balanced, and in order to do that you have to treat the water and do water changes, and you'll need filtration. That's why their images posted on the site are false advertising. If you check the FAQ, they indeed mention the need for a water pump. Small pumps like that are almost always really noisy too, so have fun watching your jellyfish while you hear "BRRRRRRRRRRR" in the background constantly. Also have fun doing a 25% water change every week (which they also mention in the FAQ). You'll also need to dechlorinate the new water and perform measurements to make sure the salinity is at the right level. You'll need to use a syphon of some sort to clean all the waste from the gravel too.

They also show a clownfish swimming in the bowl without any filter. Yeah right. Adding a marine fish to a small tank is the quickest way to kill anything in there within a week or two, as it'll throw the ecology out of whack. Having three jellyfish and a shrimp (which is their TOTL kit I think?) is already putting a massive strain on what amounts to a glorified goldfish bowl.

After all that work your jellyfish will live 3 to 6 months in captivity maybe. When they're in the medusa stage, their primary purpose is to have sex, and once they have sex that signals them to die. I suppose you could keep the polyps around, but they can go 20 years without sprouting into jellyfish.

Not to be a bummer or anything.

Aww shucks!  :(
