Keith David as himself. Also Nolan North; Troy Baker and Laura Bailey. Probably Jennifer Hale. It's a veritable who's who of VAs

I got the "game of the generation" edition which includes a lighted case for your game that spins and everything:

Lol, did you see the "Wad Wad" edition? I seriously love the lampooning of "special editions" by Volition.

Mupps, is this thumbs up thing a new affectation or have you always been doing it?

Usually I say 'great job!' to my friends in similar contexts. Or GG.

So I take the mid-range stood out the most to you on the Kaede? I most definitely enjoyed the mid range the most on this IEM. The treble though as well as the upper mid-range could be quite problematic for me on many track.s Not just poorly mastered tracks so it destroyed much of the appeal in this IEM for me. I ended up selling it a week after I acquired them.

YES.  I found the mids and upper mids much more forward than my expectations had prepared me for.  But the warmth in the low end suited it well.  One thing I did find curious was - I want to say staging but that's not exactly right - the depth behind the mid-range.  I almost want to say that it's spaciously forward or intimately out-of-head in ways.  It's definitely something that I could get used to, especially for a lot of the vocal chillout that I groove to.  But it's hard for me to justify that as a purchase now because it eats significantly into the budget of certain other item that I want atm.

Which diary members have you seen IRL?

So far, billybob_jcv and EveTan.  Tomorrow I get to meet Silent One.  tomscy2000 is busy tomorrow.

Last hour, sent tomscy2000 a message suggesting if he could swing by the Marina for 20 minutes after our meeting, ksc75smile.gifwe'll re-convene.

You do know that you were standing within reach of a TG334, 1P2, K3003 etc right?

Guess things were too busy for you wink.gif

I know...  John spent no small amount of time letting me know what was there lemme tell ya.  Any meet where I am co-organizing or covering for press always goes like that.  frown.gif  I get to hear one, maybe two, rigs at most, so I have to be very strategic with what I chose.  I think the Kaede was the only item I heard from the entire meet portion of the show.

On a separate note, I'd like to note that Silent One is one of the coolest cats I've met in this hobby.  At the risk of embarrassing him just a little bit, I would say all Diary Threaders should be so lucky as to hang out with him someday.  smile.gif

@ warrenpchi

Also, thanks for the kind words, warrenpchi. I just got in @ 1600 hrs after negotiating heavy traffic. Well, I did stop off at the fish market - Seafood, Champagne and OFF with the boots, wink.gif I'll be relaxing. Will leave my thoughts on today's meeting within the hour. On a side note, despite your having a really short name in print, it still looks a bit odd to me when I type warren only. I tend to add the extension just before I hit "Submit." rolleyes.gif

Sometimes, speculation can be fun. What were your twin thoughts - the one immediately after the post, and the one that trailed once you thought about things?

Look in to the Sui or Kuro then. I ended up keeping the Sui as it suited my needs more. The Kaede was simply too aggressive for me and unforgiving. I hear the Kuro has more treble presence than the Sui (regarding treble and upper mids) as well so that would most likely be a no go for me as I'm at my limit with the Sui as is. Not to mention the Sui is less than half the cost of the Kaede so it would be much easier on your pockets ;).

On a plus note my Spiral Ear SE5s came in. I tried them on for a minute. Haven't listened to them yet. When I get home in a bit and settle down I'll give them a listen and post some thoughts. Will take some pics as well. But the fit is quite comfortable from what I can tell. The 8A doesn't compare in comfort at all. :)

Silent notes made audible... and visible.

Earlier today, the three Diary Thread members came sooo close to meeting. But the itinerary of tomscy2000 changed. warrenpchi and I will receive our fellow member on his Spring return.

Very interested in learning more about tomscy2000's adventure at UE.

The two of us went ahead and met cafe side, with tomscy2000 in spirit. And it was there, that I entered wink.gifthe wonderful world of warrenpchi. I quickly discovered a sense of order - I found him to be a fantastic person first and foremost. Followed closely behind being a great host and head-fier.

In addition to him bringing me up-to-date with SoCal events, he brought along the WA7, some cans and other hardware candy for my delight.

Obviously rolleyes.gif I know where the time went, I just didn't see tongue_smile.gif when it left! Good times this afternoon... thanks warrnepchi. When I left his driveway, as I began to retrieve in-car messages and negotiate afternoon traffic, one of my favorite songs came on the radio, Joe Sample - "Carmel." I shall remember this grand day out with this track in mind.

The End.

@ a_rec: I've been doing it for a while I guess. If you do a search you'll probably find it showing up in posts dating back a ways.

Also: the SUI is less aggressive and revealing than the KAEDE? News to me. If anything, I hear the KAEDE's treble as slightly more refined, so it's easier for me to listen to compared to the SUI. The KURO is my least favorite of the bunch. It's kind of hard to put my finger on, but I suspect it's a combination of the SUI's treble with a slightly reduced lower end, so that there's less counter balance. It's almost like listening to the SUI with the wrong tips for me, no matter what I try.

Well that how I hear it. My Sui is most definitely smoother than the Kaede I had. Much easier on the ears IMO. DigitalFreak, H20Fidelity and elnero demoed my pair and can confirm my findings.
