I'm sorry if I wrongly assume though.

in case embedded gif doesn't work http://i.imgur.com/GWfV3.gif

True, but there's a tactile feel to it when it bottoms out, that just isn't there with scissor or dome based switches. The clack comes from bottoming out, yes. That's also one reason rings would in fact be pretty silencing on this keyboard.

Once I get my room again, I think I'm going to take off the rubber rings I put on my red cherry MX.

Perfectly fitting that I got bounced by the "Well be right back" site maintenance message in the middle of typing this out:)

I remember trying to run Lantastic - which had a HUGE resident memory program. Even with EMM386/QEMM I barely had any space left for everything else. I was trying to set-up a machine for a client that was running Lantastic, Borland Paradox, a fax client and Windows 3.11 - it was like trying to squeeze 10 pounds of potatoes into a 5 pound sack!

I cannot get how some "computer guys" today can be so incompetent some times... they definitely did not have to go through that pain we had to...!

Lantastic. I remember running into that on several sites. Usually home cooked networks that wound up being replaced with Arcnet:). The only thing worse was trying to get it to run on a PS2 55sx which pretty much ate its own memory just booting. For more fun and games PClan trying to run 5250 boards. Then try and migrate it to OS2 1.1 (we were a beta site, and I remember well, calling IBM with a problem only to have them refer me to a customer who had solved it. Only problem was that customer was the guy in the cubicle next to me.)

There are days I wished DesqView X had taken a hold on the marketetysmile.gif

Yup! we must have led parallel lives in the late 80s... I also messed around with 5250 boards getting PCs to talk to an AS400 via TwinAX. I felt like a freaking wizard when I actually got a login prompt!

I think I tried all those wannabe window managers/multi-taskers at one time or another - Desqview, PC Tools, Norton Commander, Xtree, Gem, Sidekick, Topview - I can't remember any more!! What's sad, is that the most pitiful one of all of those was the original Microsoft Windows 1.0

Oh yea. Win 1 and 2 also bundled as runtime with Excel at the time. The horror, the horror.

Twinax was a complete nightmare, bend radius of about a kilometer and if you bent it any sharper you could guarantee yourself a long night trying to find the segment with the break in it.

The edit button on the mobile site wasn't working all of a sudden just on this post and I all of a sudden knew how Neo felt in that room with Agent Smith demanding his phone call.

The JVC S500 sound excellent. Not reference quality, but amazingly fun!!! The mids are excellent, the treble clear but not sibilant, and the bass booming!!! They really are worth $50+++ IMO. My new faves, even over my hd25-1 II's,...and that's damn surprising.

Thanks to Achmed for the loaner until mine arrive from Japan!!!

Agreed. I was shocked by how good the S400 was for $26 big ones

confused.gif  I'm going to assume that you saw what it said before I edited it, but I'm still not making the connection.

Lol yea, the mobile page saves a snippet of the first unread post, I think, under every thread title, so I only got the first line probably.

The Bon Appetit thing was kind of a joke, but I do feel that the industry would need to do a lot of work to nurture the kind of deep engagement and interest that it would take to get that demographic to become active in the "hobby" as opposed to just on an as needed or cursory basis.

Yeah, in general, there are vastly different concerns for different demographics.  To the extent that we don't EVER sacrifice sound quality as the primary criteria, we should definitely make the attempt.

With my friend listening to his pair of CK100Pro's again.

I really think I am going to buy a pair of these. They are intense but the definition of crystalline.
