Hey guys, maybe we should just ask Mike where he is? Or, you know, we can keep guessing just for fun.
So for the past few days I've been playing around with an ADL Cruise. These days, I have an almost instinctive reaction against gear that looks too pretty - what with the chrome and carbon fiber thing it's got going on. But I must say that I'm starting to really like it.
For the first few nights, I had it in the bedroom as an IEM amp (doze-off listening, tablet Netflixing, etc.). And while there was some hiss with low-imp/high-sens gear, I found the amp to be quite pleasing and melodic, never harsh. Today, I decided to move it over to the desktop and check out the integrated DAC. Not bad at all, quite competent, but nothing that will blow your mind. Also, with most cans (in my case the K240 I had near me), the hiss fades to black.
All said, I think it makes a compact and attractive option for a simple nightstand or work desk rig. I'll keep checking it out over the next week or so in case anyone's got any questions.
