Hubba hubba.
IEMs and speakers? Yes plz.
Now I have a reasonable solution for driving the Float's PS.

That stack is only 60lbs. How can you begin and end a world with a measly 60lbs?

Other than that, ooooo interesting, specifically the proprietary D/A conversion.

I'm not a fan. Had three different versions over the years, and each one differed noticeably in sound from the others. Went from okay to bad to worse. Treble is too sibilant and glaring most of the time. Y-split not deep enough so the cable wears awkwardly. Leather and metals discolor with contact to the skin.

Boobs.

Warning: Wink Wink Nudge Nudge Say no more Say no more (Click to show)
Different sound from all of them makes sense now because the treble was nowhere near as glaring up top as some of the other high end models I heard at the shop. I ask because while it might not have had the best technical performance, I'd heard, I thought the tonality (on that specific model I guess) was really very good, which I find lacking on most over ear headphones I try. Most never disappear and always sound a bit off. Maybe I'm talking about timbre. I think I may have some sort of wierd outer ear resonance.

Anyway, they were very engaging with a nice bump in the 1-3k range and they kind of reminded me of the Heaven V but more grand sounding. Bass rolled off though and it was noticeable. If they vary that much from set to set then I don't think I even want to bother saving for them.

Boobs.

"Circlotron" is the coolest word I have heard in a while. It sounds like a giant Japanese robot, or maybe something that Nikola Tesla would have created to shoot lightening half-way around the world.

'circlotron' always makes me think of cyclotrons.

The DAC genuinely intrigues me. I'm going to keep an eye on its announcement.

Usually an amount about the size of a raisin or so gives me all the intensity I want.

There is a restaurant here that does "sushi roulette", wherein they give you six pieces of sushi and one of them is loaded with a big blob of wasabi. I have been caught out both times I've tried the roulette. It is really awful. First your mouth fills with a burning alcohol like feeling, then your nose is just completely flushed clean out and then it makes you cough and cough, and then you just feel this awful burning feeling in your stomach with the intense urge to vomit.

Definitely worth a try some time :D

FYI, the reason why I have that as my avatar is that, as someone into photography, I find her symmetry uncanny, but simultaneously, I find her vacant stare uncannily unsettling.

She sorta looks Tilda Swinton-y.

And I thought conveyer belt sushi was awesome.

Thanks for pointing out the fine print. I skipped it and it was awesome.

The 2 on the ends are home made, and there's ghost chillie and siracha as well as my Triple XXX. I'm scared to try the ghost chillie sauce,... ;-/

I've also tried the straight up Mexican hot sauce - all I tasted was pepper & garlic. I wasn't a fan. Then regular hot sauce & Franks Red Hot sauce,... Watery ketchup to me.

I do like hot, but I luv taste as well. I like a mix of spicy w/sweet.

Now I remember! Your picture jogged my memory. It was the Caribbean Pepper Co Scotch Bonnet sauce. I liked it specifically because it was all about the flavor.

We have a container of ghost chili powder at work, for the people who come in and say the nuclear wings aren't hot enough Troll face Meme emoticon - troll-face-meme-smiley-emoticon.gif

....add some of that to the nuclear sauce and simmer it for a few minutes, and nobody says it's not hot enough!

The store I knew that had it stopped carrying it and I was a sad panda. I want to try the ghost pepper sauce now, cry a little, then give it to my gf's father. evil_smiley.gif

Thread Starter

Of all the threads on head-fi, I find it curious that mine---a diary whose author has IBS and an extremely limited appetite as a result---always turns into a discussion on food. I understand it comes up in normal conversation from time to time, but there's been like 30 pages of it now, and it's starting to kind of get to me. ;__;

So I'm awkwardly proposing a new topic of conversation: concerts.

What was the last concert you went to, or what concerts would you like to go to some day? What would be your dream lineup? For those of you who have never been to one, why not?! They're fun! Any amusing stories? Crowd banter? Drunk guys vomiting on smaller drunk guys? Stuff people do there that annoys you? Big venues versus small ones?

Summertime is a good time for concert going. I wish I could go to more.

I'm thinking about going to check out Cake at Summerfest...
