The diary entries of a little girl in her 30s! ~ Part 2 - Page 860

Oh yeah, Val never said this but this is my personal take based on watching some of Val's interaction on head-fi. The M-80 and the M-100 in my mind is V-MODA's mid tier consumer line, the LP-2 being their entry level basshead can. While the M-100 thread was in full runaway train hype mode I couldn't help but notice how Val seemed to be gauging peoples reaction on the thread to certain questions/statements involving aesthetics vs sound signature. He seemed at times to be carefully asking ( think steering the conversation) certain people what the modern day under 30 something audiophile was looking for in a top tier can. This steering of the conversation got more inquisitive once he mentioned the Revolver and the Milano. My theory is the Revolver and the Milano will not be consumer grade headphones but instead will be Val's answer to top tier audiophile grade bassy headphones. Again, Val never implied this. This is all just a lot of conjecture on my part based on how he acted/reacted on the thread and based on some of the vague veiled answers he gave to the thread members concerning future headphone releases.

I'm glad I'm not the only one creeped out by that. Even though I know Jack Skellington when I see him that whole diorama brings this screaming through my head.

I spy something beginning with s...

on candystripe legs the spiderman comes
softly through the shadow of the evening sun
stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
looking for the victim shivering in bed
searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
suddenly!
a movement in the corner of the room!
and there is nothing i can do
when i realize with fright
that the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

quietly he laughs and shaking his head
creeps closer now
closer to the foot of the bed
and softer than shadow and quicker than flies
his arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
"be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
don't struggle like that or i will only love you more
for it's much too late to get away or turn on the light
the spiderman is having you for dinner tonight"

and i feel like i'm being eaten
by a thousand million shivering furry holes
and i know that in the morning i will wake up
in the shivering cold

and the spiderman is always hungry...

"Come into my parlour", said the spider to the fly... "I have something... "

Yep, the 334 is pretty warm/dark. It's main draw for me is how it pulls you in through the warmth, and how the mids are still so damn transparent.

The ASG-2 is very similar in sound sig and technical ability, but has more laid back upper mids (sounds comparatively less honky), less bass with the ports closed, and clearer, more present treble.

I'll loan you my pair in a month or so if you're interested.

I think I might actually get my pair in from Aurisonics before then since I sent my G-1 in about a week ago. I really appreciate the offer though!

Getting a bit more time with them today... and... you know, nothing really seemed amiss until I switched midway from the 334s to the Flat-4s. All of a sudden, everything sounded much thinner, I was kinda shocked. Spent more time listening and I'm coming around to them. There's this utterly effortless quality to the mids that is greatly impressing me at the moment.

Mids are slightly more forward on the Rhaps, espeially high mids. I always wanted more mids than the 1plus2 And this gives me it. Treble is the Rhaps weakest point as it is quite screechy but I have got the right synergy with a balanced amp and iPod classic and along with dual flanges the treble is much toned down and I find it no problem at all. The Rhaps is airier and both have huge soundstages. The 1plus2 is technically better for sure but damn I think the Rhaps is good and gets so darn close, you know detailing speed etc are all very close, just that Rhaps treble at times.

Sent from phone so may not make sense.

Hmm... Shame to hear bout that treble. I don't think I'd like screechy highs much at all :/

Yeah, the bass hasn't bothered me thus far, but I've had perhaps less than an hour of listening under my belt. I'll get a chance to hear the 1P2 in the near future though. I think the 1P2 might be more to my taste but I'm going to give the 334 some serious listening before declaring anything just yet. The mids on these phones are quite spectacular.

Indeed it is amazing. NBC is one of those Western animations that the Japanese likes too, AFAIK.

Thanks, but this is my first figurine. To be honest I am quite surprised with how larger it is than I expected. Sure there's measurements, but hell if I know how to relate to that without a ruler. :P

I got her from the same site I posted about that silver-haired suicidal teacher. Here's her link: http://www.hlj.com/product/GSC96912 (seems like this is low on stock. I ordered it back when they are restocking this. Probably once this one's stock is gone, they'd need a sizable-ish amount of orders to restock it again. Unfortunately she's not that popular among the series she's in.)

This is the one that you're interested in before: http://www.hlj.com/product/GSC44323 You asked me whether or not it's better to wait for release or put an order now. I'd say now since 1) they are not charging your card before release, 2) this is a revived figurine, so I'm guessing that there are a lot of requests for this, thus buying post-release is probably not wise if you want one. Sounds like it's a limited run.

And I have this to look forward to too: http://www.hlj.com/product/GSC44315

@DigitalFreak
Remember, it's only stalking when he presses charges. Right now it's just a creepy and unhealthy infatuation wink.gif

I for one am glad for what came of it.

Oh, I was a little too inebriated to carry on the gender conversation last night.

I think it's all a matter of semantics in the end. You are who you are, and you only lose when you let other people's labels define you.

Yes, that was a cop out...

It really never ends. I'm just really grateful to have friends that let me audition gear that I'd never be able to afford on my current budget.

Was going to say that you can delay shipping of the magical girl figurine and ship it together with the teacher figurine to save shipping cost (in exchange for humongous box), but then the latter will be released in September, and Hobby Link Japan can only hold for 60 days only. You can do this with virtually any product listed in the site, AFAIK, through the "Private Warehouse" feature.

Said ginormous box:

Well to be fair, I did combo it with my Gundam model kit I ordered. That's a normal sized mug (I don't know how much the volume is for a normal-sized mug) btw.

And now I feel safer for my MA350:

"Hands off!"

Is the Momentum really worth double the money of an MDR1R?
