Yes. But the problem with codeine, morphine is that they DO make you feel good.

LOL, I'm actually working on something that requires a little concentration, so OTC stuff is about all I can do.  smile.gif

Just take some cortisone or morphine based pill. Works better than tea.

Actually, I was counting more on the steps taken for preparation than the tea itself. My brother is stationary-sitting-working too long a stretch in a single period. Trying wink_face.gif to get him moving...

Isn't that the desired result, in this case? lol.

Listening to solid hip hop. Now I do not know if you people appreciate old school style rap, but that is splendid

If people don't mind, I'd like to go back to the Xbox One for a second in a non pro/con or versus perspective.

Ownership is becoming a very fluid concept lately, especially with software. This is troubling for me as a consumer in general. What will happen is that Microsoft and game publishers will continue to be paid whenever something that they no longer own is sold again. How has this even become a sane concept for discussion?

Pretty easy, actually.

All you have to do to piss off most post-structuralists is simply call them post-structuralists.

I haven't really been following the Xbox One thing, but I caught a brief summary the other day and was left a bit bewildered over the whole "checking in once a day" thing. Like, apparently you have to connect to their servers at least once every 24 hours to keep your games valid? Seems like a form of slowly wrought existential mental torture akin to pushing a boulder up an incline in Hades or keeping the sand out in A Woman In the Dunes.

I should have thought of that! Labels without labels being the credo there.

I'm eagerly anticipating the arise of the Neo Post Structuralist movementksc75smile.gif

It kind of makes sense/is justifiable because of how the industry has changed. Generations ago, you had to have the actual game cartridge to play the game - when you sold your N64 cartridge, you transferred your ability to play the game onto the new owner. With the new consoles and the rise of hard drive space in video game consoles, it's become feasible to write whole games to your HD. I think the fear is that piracy will be a large issue with the new consoles - this results in loss of sales.

I actually don't mind paying full price for an excellent game that I enjoy, or even to pay for a game that's okayish and that I might not finish to support a game publisher I really like. I've made it a point to buy all Atlus and Tri-Ace games brand new, just to add another drop in their bucket to show that this particular consumer supports their work.

I personally buy all games I like brand new too, as a way of supporting the developer and the retail store I love. As for MS's policy, I think used games are a big enough market in US and Japan (not to sure about EU) for them to ignore. Consoles rarely get marked down games unlike on PC, where we have different providers competing for sales (Amazon, Steam, GOG, greenmangaming, etc). Console games stay at the same price, so used games are where gamers turn to for lower priced games that don't appeal to them enough to pay full retail for. As a direct consequence, developers don't earn every time a game is bought used, unlike on PC where developers still get a share when they put their games on sale - in fact, total profits are higher because of higher volumes. (There's an article about this from one indie developer who described that steam sales let them earn way more than during the game's release)

The problem here I believe is letting developers get at least some money from used games, since the existence of used games were an afterthought in the previous generations of console gaming. Thus the solutions aren't exactly what I would call ideal, but I think we will get around there eventually. On the PC end, game sales are why we let Steam get away with DRM and such (always online, require authentication, no reselling - though steam has an "offline mode") that, if included in a console, would lead to a frenzy of criticism.
