There have been cases where drivers got to the end of the route and some idiot(s) stayed on board waiting for the bus to be empty to try and mug him for his watch gold chain, gold wedding band etc. My dress watch cost me over 900 bones not counting taxes and it looks like an expensive dress watch. I'm not taking a chance on losing it to some thief. My Bulova looks nice but it looks like a nice everyday watch and not an overly expensive dress watch that will fetch a good price on the street.

My dad has an old school Seiko. He's had it for as long as I can remember. Knowing him he'll probably be buried with it.

Ah I see... dang :s 1 bone = $10?

One good watch will last you a long while...

They did a really great job on the entire new (non-SUV) Porche range.

Sadly because 5% of their customers aren't worth catering to.

just noticed that even the gt3 doesn't have manual...

but manual is timeless :/ auto is always replaced and isn't very special seeing that it improves.

Sadly... but I guess a lot of cars in that range are auto now  ):

looniee and tooniee... sounds like lunies as in lunatics and toonie as in cartoonish.

So... when you guys pay up in cold, hard cash, you really do...

So if it's $5k upfront, do you have to heave a ton of weight?

It's a performance thing most likely. At least it is in the sense that it's a great excuse not to have to engineer a drivetrain to accept both a manual and a dual clutch.

The flippers behind the steering wheel are so much faster on a track that, "What is the point of having a manual?"

Although, I am of the age that really still appreciates, enjoys and gain great satisfaction from double de-clutching and rev matching etc. Having said that and with the traffic in most cities nowadays especially Hong Kong, flippers is probably the way to go...............

No offense, but I'm so sick of the argument that DCTs with paddles are so much faster. I'm not racing anyone and I buy a sports car for involvement and the sheer joy of driving. If I were racing at Indy, sure, I'll take the paddles, but otherwise I'd want a stick every time. As for driving supercars in the city, you probably wouldn't enjoy that, even in auto mode. They aren't traffic friendly, their brakes are rubbish in stop and go situations, visibility is horrible, and it's very hard to steer them at low speed. There are exceptions, I love my McLaren spider, it's about like driving an S-class Merc when I'm just tooling around (getting used to the throttle is the only real hurdle), and the Aventador is better than most, despite it being so damned big. And the NSX is good, like a smaller, faster Integra. However, just about all other exotics have serious trade-offs and shouldn't be purchased as DDs, unless you're just a masochist. wink.gif

I'm sorry, your MP4-12C Spider?

Edit:
Now that I've regained some of my senses: No offense taken. I was just explaining a possible position of the company. I don't think they ever claimed it would bring more joy... I don't think.

I drove manuals for many, many years. I finally decided that for my daily driver, it just didn't make any sense. Maybe once a week I was glad I had a manual - it would be great fun to blip the throttle, brake hard, down shift, hit the apex and then run through the gears and accelerate out - but the rest of the time it was a pain in the butt. And the heavier the traffic where you live, the more annoying it is. I've never driven a paddle shift car - I would like to try it.
