IEMs (generally, not customs specifically) tend to be more sensitive than full-size headphones, and pick up low-level amp noise very easily. Most tube amps tend to be a little noisy, although (on good amps, anyway) not noticeable on full-sized phones. This doesn't rule out all tube amps, but read reviews of them carefully to confirm they're noiseless, or that the noise level is low enough to not be distracting on IEMs.

Yeah, I was kind of feeling like it's one of those "you don't have to, but it can't hurt" ordeals. I actually bought the SMSL Sap-4S a month or so ago, and for $60 it sounds pretty good. Last portable amp I had was a C421, and with my 5.5G Ipod at the time, it was WAY too brick-like to justify. I might try to find a desktop amp that works nicely with customs though. The SMSL can be portable, but I feel the Magni's gain will be too high for home use.

Also I keep hearing abou the Leckerton. Out of my budget right now, but I'll keep it in mind. Everyone can't stop loving it rolleyes.gif

Excellent. Their first album is among my benchmark disks, as it seems very hard to reproduce this stuff decently for a lot of IEMs. You gotta see their vids too, hips don't lie, lol. wink.gif

Haha, the one video I've seen I enjoyed immensely (Hurting).  I can totally recognize certain parts of where that video was filmed in L.A.  I haven't gone back to their first album yet, but holy carp it's cheap on Amazon!  Truth be told, I had only heard of them and not actually heard them until recently when Holly Cruz from Horizon Pulse clued me into them.  smile.gif

This foolish man is my friend. We've been leering at him on whatsapp.

What makes you so sure there is no one there? oOOOooOOOOOoOOOOoooOOOOOooOOOoooOOOo

Well, they're a little different then modern day hipsters. They're a little more edgier then hipsters in my opinion. Usually, it's hard for me to relate to hipsters but the modern day flower power kids I can relate to on so many levels. Did I mention these type of kids all seem to be into Parachute Club and the song Rise Up seems to be their anthem, lol. I know, I'm sounding silly, but in all seriousness I really like some of the views and lifestyle choices this segment of youth society has chosen to take. It's a rather refreshing breath of fresh air in my opinion. The hipsters, or at least the ones around my neck of the woods, they all seem to be into the next flavor of the month and little else.

They're a bunch of good old boys from Toronto called The Shuffle Demons. They became popular in the 80's in Canada with the songs Get Out Of My House Roach and Spadina Bus. They're still around and going strong although they've since fallen out of the mainstream eye. I'm grooving to they're greatest hits album as I type this. Far as I know all original members are still present and accounted for. Check them out below, they aged rather well in my opinion. The video above was first filmed in the mid 80s I think

Original video (This song was the first song to put them in the mainstream eye for a time)

Here's some live stuff

He was saved, as was the bidder at $177.  Tragedy averted!  smile.gif

I'am starting to become a believer in burn in. I know that the sound shouldn't change that much, however after 300+ hours my crossfade's sound magnificent. Bass has tightened and the mids sound a lot less muddy and the highs are crisp. Am I going insane?

My brain. It melted.

My task tomorrow is to do this. Prepare the towels.

EDIT: I'll save myself the idiocy. My tired brain thinks this could somehow work with magic.
