Linky?

That is so interesting that there are two distinct sub-bass impulses that appear after the initial impulse, but everything else looks so clean. You're right, that's super weird.

Here you go:

I am just checking it out myself now. The dip just after 5k seems very sharp, not seen anything like that before personally. That sub-bass decay really has got me interigued as well!

The only part of Paris I liked was Montmartre. "Pig Alley" was kinda cool, too. Though I was too young to fully appreciate it. Paris is probably the nastiest city I ever traveled to: I'll never forget the day I was on the Metro, and a woman let her daughter wizz all over the platform instead of taking her to the WC. Filthy place...

So my eyes wasn't being deceived when I saw that those new JVC headphones really do have 2 drivers in each ear.........

So let me just say, I've seen FR graphs that had left and right channels of the same IEM less closely matched than the RE0 and RE-400 here, between 20Hz and 12kHz. Anyway, if you're nonetheless confident that the RE-400 are worth a try for someone who didn't like the RE0, I'll just shut up and bow to the expert, no offense meant. smile_phones.gif

Well, I'm not saying it'll be significantly better, but theoretically, it should still be the better earphone, IMHO. FYI, I actually haven't heard it myself, I was just trying to explain why the 400 is a better phone from a logical standpoint. I agree that it looks really similar; I just can't imagine it being worse. However, I myself liked the RE0 a lot; I just couldn't get over its dollar-store looks. Perhaps you'll still not really care for it. I guess I'm hedging here; I think I was just in a super-geeky mode yesterday. Sorry for vomiting random jargon on you.

I think something you might like more is perhaps the Hippo ProOne. Apparently, it's gonna be <$90, has a Westone-like form factor, and has a decent driver in the vented Sonion 2354 (a vented variant of Sonion's analogue to the Knowles ED, and used in the PFE, amongst other things), along with what looks like a dedicated bass vent chamber. I think Rin would have a field day with his dampers and vent hole plugging and resistor in series adding. This is one earphone where I believe it has immense DIY-modding potential to hit his downsloping DF curve "ideal".

Most of us will need Google Translate on that page.

Interesting that these are apparently 16 ohm cans....

Quite a lot, but I was referring specifically to a Hippo; it's probably not what you were hoping for... wink.gif

Cool thing about ASG-2 is that it's modular so you can expect it to be upgradeable to ASG-3/4... That and you can add plating options to it as well. I hear the G-2 is very comfy, and it'll be easier to resell if it's not to your taste.

All good points. But I am more tempted to be on the 3DD pre order as I trust UM more smily_headphones1.gif
