Pardon my ignorance whats PS? It's been a long day my feet are throbbing an it's midnight over here and I can't sleep due to a throbbing headache. The obvious is escaping me. Wild guess....plastic surgery maybe?

Always loved this anime OP tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmu_q3TmyS0

Shikao Suga does good work!

A_rec, you're love of cornbread makes you eligible to be an honorary Southerner. My dad makes the stuff for almost every meal--usually a spicey mexican version with jalapenos.

There is something about an Asian with a charming Southern drawl that warms the cockles of my heart!

I just heard a quiet little "squeeeeeoooooooooooojjj..." in one ear after inserting my NT 6 Pros but before they were plugged in. I assume it was pressure equalizing, but I'd never experienced that before. Anybody else ever get that with their IEMs?

Answer to your question at the very beginning of this awesome song:

So true lol. If you walk the actual streets of Gangnam you'll run into a hot babe every 10 seconds, but it will gradually occur to you that they all look somewhat alike. Gangnam is not only famous for its fashion, hip and swag but also for the best PS clinics in Korea. There's even a saying, "it was your parents that gave birth to you, but it was your doctor that made you." (Putting my flame suit on in case of a feminist attack) Some men jokingly advise to look for a girlfriend with a hot body rather than a pretty face, because the face can be changed anytime.

Due to the immense popularity of PS, Korea attracts quite a few female tourists from other Asian countries (mostly China or Japan), in tour packages that actually include "PS shopping" in their itineraries. Even large university hospitals nowadays began to offer cosmetic beauty therapies.

The newer Freq-Phase version of the JH16Pro +JH-3A amp arrived yesterday. I don't feel like writing much atm, so I'll keep this brief..

-> The good. Imaging on these is just insane. The JH-3A actually brings them to another level in this sense: good without it, over-the-top with it. Very detailed sound. Bass is definitely intense but not as overwhelming as I worried it might be. The JH-3A is cool because you can control the bass level quite a bit, basically cutting it out almost entirely to making it the most insanely bassy IEMs I've ever heard. With the boost turned all the way up, I predict that wearing only one channel will cause brain matter to fly out the opposite ear. I basically use it with no boost, but the option is still fun.

-> The not-so-good. These just don't sound as nice on other amps I've tried using the adapter. Dunno if it's the same for the non-JH-3A version of the JH16Pro or not, but while it's not a huge loss in quality, it's definitely a perceptible drop when I'm not using the JH-3A. Which brings me to the biggest issue: the background on the JH-3A is nowhere near black. Getting hiss, both when charging the battery via USB and also when the battery is fully charged. There's also a weird noisy in the left channel when I turn the bass boost up. Turning the amp on and off with the CIEMs plugged in is a huge no no... it results in what has to be one of the loudest POPS I've ever heard from an amp powering on or off. It's ridiculous. Overall, the gain of the amp is too high. Volume goes from "off" to "loud" and most of the fine adjustment has to be done at the source.

-> The ugly. Build quality on these is mediocre at best. The shells are a nice color (sucker-punch) but seem dull. Maybe that's my fault for choosing a color that accentuates this? Anyway, the amp is also similarly underwhelming in feel, though I like the design on the top of it. Looks nice. Plugging the dual-entry cable (for a total of four entry points or eight pins in total) into the sockets and removing it is a chore. Lots of resistance. The fit is not exactly flush, and the pins stick out a bit in places. Cable itself feels pretty sturdy. The adapter to use it with regular 1/8" plugs is well built. Biggest issue in terms of build for me however is the end of the stem where the bores are locate. It's simply unfinished. There are big pock-marks and the texture is rough. Good thing it doesn't contact my ear directly, otherwise it would cut skin.

Really I think I know what the main problem is.

FitEar has ruined other customs for me.

I've been spoiled.

The fit on the JH16Pro is pretty good, but it's nowhere near as comfortable and effortless as the one on my MH335DW. I actually want to use the FitEars more as a result. In fact from now on, future CIEMs will have to be from FitEar or someone with a similar level of QC I'm thinking. To that end, I'd like to eventually get the C435.

The exception is Aurisonics' AS-2. The style of face plates and connectors gives me a similar kind of vibe as FitEar despite being different. Their pictures of the product seem to all be computer renders, so I'd like to see more of the actual finished product.

This is kind of true -- plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, and cram schools are probably the three most common businesses in the buildings around Gangnam Station. Wander a few blocks in any direction and it's a little less intense. Elsewhere, I saw ads (mostly in Chinese, or Chinese + English) for cosmetic surgery tourism to Seoul, so that's definitely an industry.

It's kind of inevitable, though; wherever the entertainment industry is going to settle in, there's going to be a large population of people trying to break into it, and hangers-on enjoying the scene.

Visiting the Hongdae district on a Friday night was a parallel experience, only instead of people aspiring to be (or look like) the latest pop idols, it was full of indy music scene people, whether that's hip-hop, pop, metal, jazz, and so on.

I liked the food better in Hongdae, for whatever that's worth. It also had better music shops, even if the clerks in one of them blew me off.

(Edit: Made a few edits to elaborate.)
