My search for jogging / sports headphones is over - Sennheiser PMX 60

After a long and thorough search for what would be a good jogging headphones in terms of both fit and SQ, I decided to go for the Sennheiser PMX 60. And boy am I happy with them!

 

I previously owned Koss KSC75 ear clips and was moderately happy with them. Fit was somewhat okay but they looked weird on me, volume was a bit low (due to the 64 ohm impedance), they were easily getting sweaty and the sound was a bit muddy.

 

The PMX 60, on the other hand, is exactly what I wanted. Excellent fit (behind the neck style), modern looks, decent loudness (24 ohms impedance), clear sound and one-piece cable (no attachment with volume control). Price was also good for about $40. And it is Sennheiser!

I was looking at these or the PMX 680's for cycling (I use IEM's for running). Maybe I'll give these a go first.

I've had both. The newer PMX680 has brought many improvements but they are different enough in form and sound to co-exist. I prefer the PMX680 more though(they weigh a silly light 18.6 grams).

 

The new series is close at hand so maybe skip both. The PMX685 is coming and also a new form factor, the PX685...

Good for jogging but also the gym especially if you put you head back on a bench/machine where behind the neck/head phones don't work so well. http://en-de.sennheiser.com/news/developed-with-athletes-sennheiser-and-adidas-launch-a-new-sports-earphones-series

Thanks for the information, shame that the newer ones only come in iPhone/iPod versions.

I think I'll get some 680's when my current buds die, the big foam pads on the 60's don't look ideal for tons of sweat and heat.

Yeah the PMX 60 isn't something you can get caught in a good rain with while the PMX680 is rinse-able under water. I also don't like the i versions as I have a Degen 1127 which I use for AM sports talk/ball games and MP3's/podcasts. It has a speaker, so the i-phones don't shut the speaker off and give both headphone and speaker output cause the rings don't line up for it to shut the speaker off. I do have a short MEELEC cable adapter that fixes that though so I may still pick up the PX685.
