AKG... K 550 vs K 240

Does anyone have both of these to compare?

I'm going to assume by default that the 550 is an improvement in clarity and isolation, and I've heard it's less amp-hungry.

However what I'm most curious about is the bass. I love the overall sound signature of my 240s but the bass doesn't really seem to extend at all into the sub-bass regions after the big spike in the mid-bass.

Are the 550s the same or do they have more of a "hi-fi" sound with separation between sub- and mid-bass?

They have a nicely extended sub-bass that is nearly as good as that of the Denon D2000... but only if you find the right fit and they seal around your ears properly. Some people have been reporting issues with getting a good seal with them.
