Didn't you see the screen name?  It's not meant to imply audiophile over here biggrin.gif

However, this thread is killing me, because with most high end 'phones here I'm like, "no iPhone controls! I'm holding out!"  but now I see Cosmic is ever offering "genuine Apple Cord"... and to think this whole time I was proudly avoiding a "sorry about your wallet" situation...

Got to wait till the 26th to get my ear impressions done.  I've got a hygienist appointment the monday before to get my ears checked to make sure they are nice and free of wax.  I'm also forgoing iems atm just to make sure that my ears aren't irritated or sore.

Cheers

Is that a special edition, with it's own drivers, or an option to the flex?

Also, which one would you guys say is closest to the Etymotic sound but with wider soundstage?

It is a special edition. It comes with the same driver as the pure plus, sport plus or the flex with single BA option. I will give it a full comparison with the Ety HF5, Phonak PFE and Nocs NS800 which are all very nice single BA IEMs when i get hold of it.

Excuse me, but using "Edition" in that context is very common. I'm surprised you haven't seen it done - it's very cromulent. You need to embiggen your vocabulary a little.

How much more can you hear with decent plugs in, not a lot.

My ears are shagged enough after too many miles of riding without plugs, and a quiet bit of Radio 4 really helps journeys along. I am not talking about ravetastic sessions here.

Riding a motorcycle any distance without ear protection is just dumb in my opinion.

My hearing is absolutely fine. Was tested just a couple of weeks ago in fact when I got my impressions made. I have been riding a motorbike for over 25 years now, without earplugs or headphones.

We are going to have to agree to differ I think. I think it's mental to ride a motorbike with anything in your ears, and you think it's mental to ride without. I don't think those two positions can be reconciled :-)

Writing "your" instead of "you're" for "you are" is also very common, and just as wrong.

I very much doubt it, since I've spent a good deal of time discussing the subject for professional publications. You wouldn't believe the back-and-forth that can go on between a writer and an editor on the necessity of a space before the ellipsis, on the use of three dots (ellipsis) or four dots (period, followed by an ellipsis), etc. But if you're also a publishing professional, I'd be happy to consider your point ... as soon as you'll have made one, of course.

(BTW, it's "criticize" with a z).

He used the right your?

Anyways move on guys, make this thread turn sour.
