I apologize for deviating from the general discussion of CE but I was curious if anyone following this thread participates in a portable rig thread? Im curious to know which DAPs/interconnects/ amplification you all use or intend to use with your CE ciems.
-pm me if you all don't want to post here. I'm curious to see how everyones tastes differ towards their personal portable rigs

I use mine straight from dap, a rockboxed dx50 and a modified and rockboxed cowon d2+. Right now my turn to rig is the dx50 and the ba4

How much in your opinion do you think I would benefit from say the AloAudio National amp? Paired with the HY3s ill probably just stick with my Tomahawk now and get a better DAP

I would say better DAP first, otherwise its crap in crap out. But that's just my view. Most of my friends, myself included have gone full circle and found the amp unnecessary for our purposes.

Expensive, until you realise you only really need a good dap and good set of IEMs. Unless you have really acute hearing then its good bye to your wallet lol.

My ba4r are paired with diy modded ipod video 5g w/ diy a class amp. I tested for a while HiSoundAudio Studio V 3rd Anniversary Edition and they sounded incredible with this dap. Although they don't need an amp to be properly driven, my impression is that they are taken to the better level if you add a very good sounding amp, in particular the spacious one.

While every ciem will benefit from an amp and dac the Ciems are made to to work perfectly straight out of your DAP.

I've been using a simple ipod nano to do the job with my BA4F (no EQ) and they sound great as is. With a cypherlabs setup everything gets bumped up to a higher level but is not needed to have good sound.

Just my idea
