That should have a single larger BA driver and another smaller single BA driver (rather than the twin which is a single unit with dual small BA drivers attached). Cosmic hasn't publicly commented on their driver choices aside from saying the twin driver is custom made for them. But there are only a few manufacturers whatever is in your dual driver Flex model is from one of the big armature companies.

Based on what I'm hearing on the twin driver model, the dual driver model should be quite good indeed. How much did it end of costing total?

Correct I got the one with the larger bass driver and smaller treble driver.

They were only $270 (which is about $200 than UM's Marvel) after shipping and everything, I just got the standard setup in purple (that's going to look awesome, LOL) with the regular cable which is not over the ears and I think I'm going to like that more because I'm not a bit fan of the cord over my ears.  I didn't get the impressions kit as I'm going to use a local audiologist because I don't want to mess that part up as it seems to be quite important to get it right the first time.

Cool, I think you'll enjoy it. The dual driver model is said to have more extension on top, while the twin is more laid back. But I imagine it will still retain a somewhat smooth tone overall as that seems to be the designer's preference. But we'll see.

I think so to and as long as they're detailed with a good soundstage and decent bass because my E11 can handle that part I'll be set.

Yeah and I'm really looking forward to getting them.

Your getting the Flex Hybrid with the single BA and single dynamic driver, right?  I was was on the fence with though's but I think the 2 BA setup with the larger bass driver and smaller treble driver will work best for me because I really like the speed and texture of a BA and its bass response.

I ended up selling the Heaven IV not because I didn't like them but because it helped me to be able to purchase these plus they're going to a good home. bigsmile_face.gif

From the limited time I did have, they sound really good. Mostly neutral, good soundstage depth and accuracy, nice extension on both ends. I'm starting to figure out what I believe is the Cosmic Ears "house sound" - mostly neutral with a slightly laid back top end (but not recessed unless you count the basic Pure model). This twin driver combined with a dynamic driver for lows has potential to sound incredible for $350. But even a basic model with the twin driver for $150 or so would be a good buy for most people.

...

That's really great news for me, as that's the kind of sound I'm looking for from their triple hybrid model! beerchug.gif

If you want recessed jacks is it free? And do you just request it in the order notes? Is it available on all top-exit models or just the Flex?

No, it isn't free. It's a Flex model 20 pound option if you select the Premium (detachable top exit) 10 pound cable option. So if you want recessed sockets, it's a 30 pound option in total...

Not worth the bother of DIY imho.

Where as I phoned specsavers and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about! (Yes I did explain!) Cheers

Specsavers will have a private audiologist come in to do there hearing care side of things, hense why prices will fluctuate around the country, they quoted me £50 in my area.

My local Specsavers told me they don't do it, and my local Boots quoted me £102.

For anyone in London I can recommend London Hearing in Harley Street. A very reasonable £30. The lady even did another impressions because the first wasn't 100% perfect.
