Hello Phil and welcome! I see that you've been a lurking member for over a year but just started posting :)

I will receive my HY3 today so we'll see how the fit is.

Phil - good to see you here! Listening to the BA4F right now, very nice indeed.

Phil good to see you here! This is probably my favorite thread on the whole forum.

I've been using the C5 with the BA4f and the DX50, and after some critical listening I do have to agree with you on the warmness of the C5.

There seems to be a tradeoff in this case, the C5 does sound warmer, but also fuller, has a bit more detail and the soundstage seems a bit larger than the HO of the DX50.

Overall I'd say the sound benefits from using the C5, but I am curious to how the BA4f pairs with other amps.

BTW, I bought the C5, because I literally could not find any other decent portable amp that's sold in europe.

As soon as I get the iBasso back I will send it on, it has been on a delivery truck going round and round Stockholm for the past 10 days

Sometimes, it seems like postal services get a kick from annoying customers.

I just listened to the DX50+C5+BA4f setup, lying on the bed, with my eyes closed, and in total it does sound better. Yet, it doesn't sound that much better, with a select few songs, I actually liked the DX50 HO's better. Then there's the added weight and size of the C5. I'm pretty sure I could kill someone with this metal brick. Which could come in handy when someone wants to rob me...

Oh man, you!

To add a little positive to my chain of comments, I have to say that the O2-BA4f pairing is absolutely superb.

I'm not a fan of the O2. And I'm being nice. I use it as a 9V battery charger.
