Could be. It really depends on your ears and varies from person to person. I always break seal when I yawn or open wide. Seal returns when I close my jaw. That's just the nature of my face I guess. Other people have no such issues.

I'd say give it more time and see what happens - when I first tried the revised BA4 (pictured last page) the fit was way off on the left ear. Couldn't get a seal. After trying for a while, it was decent but not great. A few days later it is getting better each time I use it. Why? I don't know, maybe it's picking up a thin layer of wax coating each time I use it (ewwwww....). This is not the first time I've had that happen either.

Well this shaky cam pic shows what it looks like when wearing it:-

Apparantly it was done like that to avoid problems with cable routing.  Just seems a little much to me as I was expecting it to sit much more flush! That's the right and the left whilst better isn't as good as it could be either!

Was just wondering if you thought that was acceptable or should I get back in touch?

Cheers

The fit is not necessarily related to protrusion - in fact I've had CIEMs that fit excellent and stick way out, or very flush, and it doesn't seem to matter. Some of them seem to need the extra space to fit more drivers or longer sound tubes, others seem to have arbitrarily thicker shells that stick out for no good reason (that I'm aware of).

Ah ok.  Cheers.

Would you happen to know if Ce are on holiday this week or next?  Sent a couple of emails but no reply.  It's not so much that I mind waiting, I just prefer knowing that I have to wait :)  I'm just after a realistic time of when to expect my ma's back from repair.

Cheers

Sorry, not sure. Phil mentioned it was "upcoming" but I don't know the date. He should put it on the site, that would help.

Hi

Thanks for that.  Just wanted to check.  As I said, it's not the wait I mind so much it's knowing the length of it.  So it's about a month or so till I get mine back :( :)

Cheers

PS at least I'm on holiday this week as well :)

I'm guessing they'll be fine.
This guess is based on the fact that I've just received a pair of 'experimental' CIEMs from Cosmic that were made from DIY impressions that were first supplied to them around 10 months ago, and the fit is excellent.

Of course I'm uncertain how Phil stores impressions, but as long as you get them to him before they shrink it should be fine.

I've read that modern impression materials are good for months before they shrink appreciably anyway, so I'd just send them and let Phil take care of the rest.
