Yeah, I didn't know about this either. Phil told me about it when I asked him about HY3 and BA4 and then I was immediately tempted once I heard there was a BA4F.

Yeah, I was sort of set on the HY3 after learning about how neutral the BA4 was but then once I heard about the BA4F I immediately jumped back on to the BA4. Clarity with a bit more low end = happy camper. Phil sure does listen to what his customers want.

Any price difference between the two?

Cheers

Well it would total out at €400 that's with a fairly cheap audiologist I think. It's not that cheap :p

But I think it would be a very good buy:)

Compared to some other brands, CE has a huge advantage on pricing. Also it is located in EU, which makes things easier for us.

I think it's the same price. I'm still waiting to get an email back from Phil before I send my impressions out, hopefully he responds tomorrow.

@marleybob217

I'll definitely try to give you guys my impressions on the BA4F.

hey guys a guy from Sweden here aswell! i signed up for this site to find a amazing pair of iem's to replace my denon ah-d2000 wich i have been very pleased with.. i understand its hard or even impossible to get replace iems with a pair of full sized headphones but maybe i can find something that comes close or wow me even more but in a different way. i know nothing about audio in general more then that i love when it sounds amazing and the music turns my being into a mediative state!.

so the first interesting thread i came a cross was this one and i do not understand a word of what you guys talk about haha :P.. but i like the sound of being able to customize your iems to fit your ears and being able to detach the audio cable and replace it if it breaks for example..

i have no idea what hybrids are but it sounds cool i like the idea of hybrid cars haha:P.. anyway will these iem's give me the most profound enjoyable experience under 500 dollars? and is 1 year warranty good for a price point like this? will i still enjoy these iems many years to come if i am carefull with them?.

The reason why i am trying to replace my Denon ah-d2000 is that i am going to be traveling alot and they are a bit to big for me to take on the road and i rather have something that feels and fits good in my ear than having something big around and on my ear.

.Having that said the soundpicture does not have to be identical to my Denons but what i am hinting at is that they sat my audio experience to a whole new level going from a pair of Skullcandys for 80 bucks.

So am i looking in the right thread or should i be looking for something else? and is this more bang for the buck then other high end iems ? like Shure Se 535 or Monster cable turbine pro, klipch, sennheiser, etc ,, and other more mainstream brands.

i say it again i know not mouch about audio technology and absolutley nothing about custom iems, more then that i can mold them to fit my ears and i can make them look more the way i want to..  am i in for a threat  :D? thankfull for replys cheers Fredrik.

Hey mate, Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet.

I would love to help you but I have not heard D200 unfortunately. However you are one lucky guy, you are from Sweden. I highly suggest you to send an email to Cosmic Ears, Phil would love to help you in the best way since he is awesome on this. If you are close to his address you can even visit him and do the talking face to face I think. He was incredibly helpful with me, first he understands what kind of sound you like then he suggests which ciem would fit best for your needs.

Here's a question for those of you with ce monitors.  How flush are they in your ears?  Yep got mine back today and the ma's now fit fine (I think after a brief tryout, certainly better than they did anyway!).  The TF10r's however fit (if I take the cables out, bloody memory wire needs a trim before I use it!) but do stick out a bit.  I was under the impression that the monitors are pretty much flush to your ears.  You can certainly tell I'm wearing them.  Not sure I'd be sending them back over this I just want a yard stick to judge them by.  Any shots of people wearing the ce's would be appropriate.  Aside from that though I am finally happy with the fit (oh and the colour job on it is ace (though black could be a little darker to make it stand out).  Black faceplate, and a near identical colour to the tf10 for the main shell!  I'll try to get a shot later.

Cheers

I guess that depends on your ear size

So, they (finally) fit well? Saint Phil's persistence paid off? That's great news!

I was gonna say that some of my customs are really flush or even shallow looking, others protrude more, it kind of depends on the drivers and the individual build.

Didn't know anything about CIEMs until I stumbled across this thread. Read it in full and now very interested in the HY3.

Does the a 6th gen iPod Shuffle have a decent enough amp to power these? (using a pair of Bose IE2s atm)

Thanks!

Should be fine, they're not that hard to drive. I have a bunch of amps but I usually listen straight from my iPhone.
