Yes, they are! And then add shipping cost to that... The final price for the Merlins should be almost 3 times the price of the HY3. Hence my question...

i tink from unique melody site is 800 with shipping included.
around 2 times the price.
wonder is it worth the price.
maybe wait for more review on the hy3 before making the decision
You should. I guess the Merlin can be better, but with the HY3 at a price of $330/340 shipped (IIRC), I'd wait... I am!
I remember someone asking me to try my Single BA's with my Cowon J3 using mach bass. The bass is increased mainly in the sub-bass regions but distortion is created due to the rise with in the bass and the mids are slightly covered. I prefer it how it is but playing around with the bass settings you can add some with not putting to much strain on the rest of the frequencies only the natural result of adding bass. However they will never have a warm bass or a bold big hitting bass with any EQ, the bass also takes a hit in tightness when 'expanded' up a few db. If you want the bass then the Cowon will take care but i am not sure you will.
Thank you for trying out. I guess i'll only enable bass when i'm in the bus or at work (factory) so the quality loss will be less noticable.
I have made up my mind and I'm going for the twin BA with premium cable. This will cost a total of 155 euro incl. shipping. Defenitely a low price for a pair of customs and low enough to find out how awesome it is.
twin BA may have more bas as this is single BA and also there was not much quality loss!
how about the dual BA?
can someone compere the twin and dual BA ?
+1
When I will make the impressions do I have to keep my mouth open, closed or locked? I know the notes for audiologists ear impression says I should use a bite lock but I'm not sure if that's good.
I guess my ear canals will deform when I do that won't they?
I don't think many people have either model yet, just a handful of each. And so far nobody (including me) owns the twin and the dual models. So this might not be possible for a while.
The twin driver is pretty darn good though - easily as good as the better twin style universals out there such as UE700. I like that it has sparkly highs but isn't too bright, and the bass extension is very pleasing.

and the mids? because i'm a shure fan and love the mids of my se535
the price of the twin is really great but i am afraid that it will be too analytic for me
Reallly? Hmm, I may not get these then. The UE700's aren't exactly awesome $170 IEM's in the scheme of things from what I read from reviews. GR07 it is then
