You might just be as well going to one of the Boots hearing centres. I think I read somewhere on here that they do the impressions for £20,

My local boots wanted £50 per ear apparently. I went to hidden hearing wasn't a good experience so I'm going to try the diy kit. I've ordered a kit from Phil at CE so hopefully be here soon.

Well I'm about to order a pair of the Flex with the 2 BA's because at that price its hard not to.  It just sucks that the BA's are on back ordered for 4 weeks but I'm in no rush to get them.

Rang a respected audiologist in Melbourne and was quoted $44 for a set of impressions - around 28gbp.  Does not seem right that some people are being charged 100 quid for such a simple procedure :/

Man I can get my impressions from a good audiologist for $15 which is awesome.  They done some for people getting Westone and UE CIEM's.

I'm loving how fast Phil responds to emails, it just started the process and I'm already liking what I'm seeing.

They were £25, there were gaps/voids in the molds also she wouldn't use enough material at the tragus and anti tragus areas where the socket would be for over ear cables. I even brought the print off guide and asked her to, she just told me its the best she could do and that if whoever couldn't use them then she personnaly wouldn't buy from them.

I find hard to believe that prices for impressions can be so varied even from one Specsavers or boots store not just abroad.

So I received my Flex micro shell twin driver model today. I have a bit of a fit issue with the left side - having a hard time getting a perfect seal. It seems a little on the small side. Things are very different when you only have a canal portion to deal with rather than a bigger shell to plug up your ear.

I had to leave for work and didn't get a chance to use them much. From the limited time I did have, they sound really good. Mostly neutral, good soundstage depth and accuracy, nice extension on both ends. I'm starting to figure out what I believe is the Cosmic Ears "house sound" - mostly neutral with a slightly laid back top end (but not recessed unless you count the basic Pure model). This twin driver combined with a dynamic driver for lows has potential to sound incredible for $350. But even a basic model with the twin driver for $150 or so would be a good buy for most people.

I'll have more to say when I've used them more. I should have time tomorrow. I'm hoping the fit issue is a fluke - sometimes my ears seem to be "off" at certain times of the day, and CIEMs that I use on a regular basis (and normally fit well) don't fit for some reason. Hopefully that's the case here.

I was thinking about getting the twin driver or the single BA single dynamic Flex but went with the on right above the twin BA in the 2 separate BA Flex setup.  Does anyone know what drivers they use for those?  I wont be getting them for over a month but I'm already excited because this will be my first CIEM as I think it will be for a few other people as well.  They're like the Rockit Sounds of the CIEM world, cheap price wise but not in build and SQ ( at leastI hope but some of the early impressions look very promising).

So to clarify - you got the "dual driver" Flex? That should have a single larger BA driver and another smaller single BA driver (rather than the twin which is a single unit with dual small BA drivers attached). Cosmic hasn't publicly commented on their driver choices aside from saying the twin driver is custom made for them. But there are only a few manufacturers whatever is in your dual driver Flex model is from one of the big armature companies.

Based on what I'm hearing on the twin driver model, the dual driver model should be quite good indeed. How much did it end of costing total?
