For Sale:
The best of the bunch! Russian tubes for Schiit Valhalla version 1 & 2.

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Hi all, I've been testing and listening to many variants of Russian tubes. Different years, different factory/brands. After working at this for some time now, I've found the ultimate tubes for the Valhalla! The tubes are smooth, detailed, warm in the mids and deep on the bass, Fantastic image with very nice pin point accuracy. Dead silent back ground(as in BLACK). The bad news for me is out of 150 NOS tubes, I could only get 11 sets of closely matched, section to section and tube to tube. The good for you is you can get a set! $88. shipped in the US. All other locations should add $15.

The 6n6p's are OTK rated and are from 1969~1977. The 6n1p-eb's are also OTK rated and are from 1971.

I've done blind testing with a few friends and all of them find the combination to sound best.

Just so you know, I've priced these tubes, as to brake even. This only pays for the hobby, and I'm making little to no profit from this price. I only wish the help others reach audio bliss thru there Valhalla's as I have.

Thanks.

Ben,

How´re you doing? Well after a time rolling and testing these tubes with my k702 and hd650, I found that the bunch ones were very nice, they seem to be better built, have a better quality and the sound is very balanced... Very nice set of tubes you found, they are a very nice option and well I also have tested the valhalla with a pair of telefunkens, amperex and teslas... and I found amperex really suited for the k702 but deep bassy for the hd 650... And the best pair for the hd650 IMO are the teslas then the telefunkens... now I will roll to these set up you make and have a long session with the hd650....

This best of the bunch do a very good job with the k702´s !!! so detail, with great mids, detail and not that drowned bass, and the highs are there without sticking in you ears... they are great... lets see how they sound with the hd650!

Thanks man,

Cheers,

Miguel

Ben.

If I pay for them now would you promise to not forget to ship them when you're free?  ;)  I understand your schedule, I work 5AM-10PM every day myself, luckily part of that is in front my my Valhalla with my HD 650's...  :)

Ok, I've got these gems back in stock! Only a few sets, Price has gone up a bit, as these tubes are getting very hard to find. Similar years. All matched section to section and tube to tube.

$88. shipped. $15. extra for out of the US.

Not one person was unhappy with the last batch of 7 I sold.

Thanks, Ben.

I did test quite a few 6n1p and 6n6p tubes of various factories and years of production. Most of the "OTK" stamps  are fake, recently printed with either funky blue paint or etched with phosphoric acid - neither of which was in use in Russian factories. "OTK" is QC designation and is stamped by hand (after being tested) using blue ink colored paint, not etched, not printed. No two stamps look the same.

There are several variants of 6n6p tubes. The most common ones have getters attached on one side and have non-carbonized internal shield. The ones having carbon coated internal shield sound better. Foton factory 6n6p are the better ones - glass envelope is darker, getter attached on both sides, carbon coated shield.

Most of the 6n1p-EV sold on eBay have fake OTK stamps. They usually come from surplus storage sources and are not checked for quality. I found that in 6n1p-6n6p Aikido pairs regular 6n1p sound better. Valhalla is not exactly Aikido (it's common cathode VA "D" + WCF), but should be close enough in terms of sound.

Hope this info is useful.
