Grace design m903 vs burson 160d for HD800? Which is better?

Which of the two is better for the hd800 ? Or any other amplifier with built in DAC ?

Better is subjective. It depends on the sound signature you are looking for.

Unfortunately, I can't provide you with an audition comparison. I only have experience with the m903. A couple differences in features and functions that drove me to pick he Grace Design:

- I needed balanced outs for my active monitors (Burson does not have)
- Great USB DAC ( up to 24/192 via USB on my Mac)
- independent volume controls for HF out and monitor out
- Jan Mier designed cross-feed circuit
- low output impedance of 1.25 ohm (Burson is 5.6 ohm)
- very nice multi function interface
- compact size
- made in USA

Both are great units. It just depends on what you need.
