HE-500's In Need of Repair

I bought a pair of HE-500's off the classifieds here in December, and they've been fantastic. The sound is so clear and crisp...words just fail me. But I've run into a problem. (I don't know the technical names for the parts, so please bear with me.) The right nub that holds the right can on has cracked off (see pic). The right can no longer stays with the phones. I tried super-gluing it back on, but it fell right off after a day. Any suggestions for fixing this? I'd hate to give up on this pair of headphones so quickly. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a fix-it guy. Thanks guys!

Interesting, I've never seen that before. You could try some strong Gorilla glue, but be careful not to get it on the tracks where cup will slide along. I don't know if it was there before, but you also may want to look into getting some teflon tape for a low-friction surface.

buy LCD2 headband and gimbals =)

 

i think it fits after some bending!

I found a rather inelegant solution. I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD800's on eBay for a killer price and am going to resell the HE-500's to someone who knows better how to fix them....
