Wow, 13mW seems to be quite low when directly compared with the other DAPs. Seems like a good amp with good EQ is a must to boost the low end as well, looking at the 100Hz roll over freq.

Is that per channel or the max because 13mW per channel is semi-decent and totally usable but if its 6.5 per channel then I',m not sure that will be strong enough for me because I don't like to use my e11 al the time and worry about its battery life too.

It's per when both are driven so it's plenty for IEMs other than perhaps a 4s etc. Think close to a clip+.

OK, thanks. Then I'll be getting one - my old clip+ was powerful enough and although I'm not sure of its power, I think it must have been something around 15mW.

Edit, ok that seems to be what sansa has stated, however when measured it was 15mw so you are correct.

Not allowed to post link i think.

so this woudnt  e ideal for low imedance iem right?

OK, I cracked and ordered one. 15 bucks for the shipping is a little bit steep though  - especially on ebay. Add to that the atrocious conversion rates of paypal and it ended costing $119. Anyway, I hope I get it next week and add my opinion in this thread

$15 for shipping is perfectly reasonable for the speed it comes at, i just shipped a set of hje900 for gbp £12.74 scotland to finland.

Anyway the factor it in the price the want in total for the player, they probably want to sell it for 115 anyway but by putting the postage at 15 the player price is at that magical $99.

What I dont understand is that how you managed to pay $5 more.  Did you not go all the way through in dollars then pay with paypal, the conversion is done after ie converted from $114 total.

Anyway hope you enjoy and look forward to your impressions popcorn.gif

Nice review bro. I personally find it lacks a few things I require (playlists, tag sorting, hardware controls) but the sq is something I'd love to give a listen to. The look of it is right up my alley as well,... And it has a SCREEN!!! smily_headphones1.gif And,...your not limited to one codec only.

***sigh*** my search continues,...

Cheers mate!  At times I do find myself wishing it didn't have the screen and cost a lot more ;)

The day that turns up your search will be over very_evil_smiley.gif

It's relative. The low impedance part may not be optimum as it appears the C3 may not have the lowest output impedance but there's more to sound than perfect electrical matching. It may come down to how much you like it's character vs how low an impedance your driving and your bass requirements/preferences. Obviously, stozzer has experience with better daps and digs it but ideal? Probably not but then were talking DAPs. I don't think there's a perfect one though maybe a clip+ is close for it's size/price/function/expectation ratio. I carry one around but it's not my best player even though it has the lowest output impedace..

Well, the shipping speed is not a reasonable explanation in the case. It's just that Singapore Post is that good not that they pay more to send it to me faster. Lendmeurears and mp4nation also use exactly the same Singapore Post service and I've got a lot of iems from them - they always arrive within a week to Europe and the shipping is free. Also, why does bigbargainonline charge 5 bucks for the shipping of headphones and 15 for the players when the package is the same size and they use the same service for both? I guess I wouldn't mind paying $15 for shipping if I didn't know better but last week I received my vsonic GR07 in 4 days with Singapore post and I didn't pay a thing for the shipping. As far as the paypal stuff - I have no idea why their exchage rate was so bad

Sorry for the sort of offtopic. It's not a big deal - I guess I just got spoilt by some of the better retailers out there that send the stuff for free.

Sorry i just cant understand how you managed to get a figure of 119 rather than 114.   99 + 15 = 114 thats the price that appears when you click buy it now and thats the price of the player to everyone (tried from multiple IP's).

Paypal exchange is done of off the fixed rate of 114 and seen as the seller pays all the paypal fees that price is then calculated using the price of $114.

Paypal is better than most of my credit cards commission or travel exchange for that matter u pay just under 2% of the xe.com value which you can never get anyway when purchasing currency i actually think is very reasonable. Anyway the only value you pay is 114 it should not magically jump to 119 as you say.

Surley you cannot think shipping from lend me your ears and mp3nation is actually free?  they factor the shipping price into the total cost of the item they dont have and agreement with post office letting them send unlimited items around the world for free.

This is not uncommon at all in ebay, and i do it myself.

There's two left here for $104.00 US (free shipping)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-COLORFLY-C3-24bit-WAV-APE-FLAC-MP3-HiFi-Music-Player-/320958320174?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aba9b4e2e

I've read a few Chinese reviews on C3 this evening, one of them used GR07 as a test IEM with the player describing GR07 paired as underpowered and thin with lack of bass. I'm trying to find the review again with no luck as I happened to come across it on google images. It has a Cowon C2 next to the C3 in a photo. I'll be giving the C3 a miss, at 13mw there's not enough power for some of my IEM's.

If I find the review again (which I had to translate) I'll link it here as it went into decent detail.

Edit: Found one of them, I've read a few and I can't find them all again. rolleyes.gif
