Folder only yes. you select shuffle in the settings menu then choose your folder > shuffles within that folder.
I guess you could put a heap of album tracks in one folder and shuffle it.
Simplicity and beauty. The casing and touch pad really are a wonderful design, the build quality and weight in real life can be highly appreciated. Photo's simply don't do C3 justice until you've held one in yoru hand. Although the menu is basic and features may be absent when you hear it you really don't care anymore.
It was never designed to compete with mainstream features more to sink into the audio experience.
I was using mine this afternoon for about an hour It leaves the Cowon S9 behind when both players are set flat. The S9 with BBE makes it awkward because you gain a lot of detailing soundstage depth and an illusion of extra width. Though flat it's a no brainier, the bass is just great on C3 in clarity and quality. (with the right IEM of course)
Separation is certainly note worthy too.
