As for the rooting I don't want to install custom ROMs, I just wanna get more customization out (fonts) and apps (some apps need root access, such as Voodoo Sound, things like that).

I think the Sony DAP's are getting more Android phone-like actually, not so much iphone. They're so close to a Samsung functionally (being Android based by nature) that they should just add phone functionality... or maybe add S-master MX to their Xperia phones. One way or another.

you're talking about cohesion here, not a Sony strong point... can you imagine what would happen if the Walkman guy, headphone guy & the DAC/Amp guy ever bumped into each other at work and actually conversed......

This. The interface is quite vanilla, actually, off the top of my head it is very similar to the (almost) vanilla ICS on the PadFone I've got. Apart from the customized media applications, the quick-access player and Walkman Classics.
cn11, have you tried any games or stuff on it? It puzzles me that they'd use a Tegra 2 SoC, given that it's not exactly a very new chip or anything.
However it is cheaper to use than the newer S4 or anything, although that makes me wonder why not perhaps one of ST Ericsson's Novathors (given that they do have a sort of partnership in place).
Speaking of the Tegra 2, apparently it contains a Wofson WM8994 DAC. Interesting.

There's plenty of EQ apps on both iOS and Androids, just saying.

I don't know why you are addressing this post at me.
The confused face smiley I used before
was in answer to this post http://www.head-fi.org/t/625852/sony-nwz-f806-mini-review/270#post_8766227 because I disagreed with that poster about the new Sony players being more like an iPhone.
I already have the z and ill get this one for my sister:)

No plan to right now, nope! I'm ok with Poweramp and the stock OS setup.
