think you have to provide a link to the item you want then they buy it on your behalf... one of the US head-fi'ers should be able to find the cheapes/best deal if you ask... they charge a percentage of final price, so get best price.

the Asia market WM-Z's (Aussie market etc) are same as US ones & are not volume-capped (completely in English too).

The sq of the f806 is not as good as the s706f. in fact it is below my iPhone 4s.
Bass presence is not there and the soundstage became very small. It feels as if I'm using some el cheapo earphones. It certainly does not live up to its s-master amp name.
i've set the equaliser to unique.

am i doing anything wrong?

My setup :
F806/S706f (both line out)--> E7 (bass 2) --> Sony XBA-4.

my sony LOD (fiio l5) is arriving soon.

Is your a Euro version?  If so, that may be the reason why.  Please let us know if this is a Euro unit.

try not to use E7 now, you're double-amping it.

 

At least wait until the LOD arrive if you want to use the E7

I live in Malaysia. I think I have the Asian version. If not the Japanese version as mine came with Japanese as the default language but I changed it to English.
Why would the euro unit affect the sq?
On another note. The player actually sounds good with my UE 350vm directly from the line out.
Maybe because it's less sensitive. The bass is still lacking in quantity but it quite punchy and soundstage has became much wider.
I will update my findings when I use the xba4 unamplified.

Note : my files are majorly in 320kbps with a portion in FLAC.

I doubt it's been released. Announced, maybe, but not released... Unless they're releasing lower capacity before the 64gb. The 64gb is set for a 20th oct. release date.

And I'm not saying that it's advisable to use a certain amp, since it will depends on your music preference, harmony with the cans, etc.

 

What I'm saying is you have to bypass the internal amp with LOD, or you'll just ruin the sound by double-amping it

It sounds a quite flat all round especially around the highs and low but mids are good. (Y)
Mine is the 32GB version but there is no way to know whether mine is what version as there is no serial number. :P (explains why I got it at cheaper price but from a seller that has been dealing Sony players for years)

@cn11: apparently different build does equal slight difference in SQ and build quality.

 

Japan's Z series is claimed to have slightly brighter SQ than the international version (the one used for comparison was HK version) but the overall difference is minor and would only noticeable during A-Bing

 

while other friend got problematic HO in his Malaysian build A864, it keeps on producing pop noise every time a headphone/IEM is plugged in
