rather than wasting your money on new DAP, I'd say you'd better buy better headphone/IEM...

i fail to see exactly what that has got to do with the issue i had and the issue you know i had, which i obviously need to repeat just for you, the issue of the f as a stock player, not being capable of playing gapless. rather than looking at someones equipment profile and then aim your 'argument' on that, try sticking to the issue in hand please. you are making yourself look at little bit silly.

There there...

You prefer gapless over SQ?
Solution: Go for neutron or any other third party player.

Can someone with experience of the japanese NWZ-F806 or F807 confirm if it can be set to english??

I REALLY want the superior japanese version but not being able to read japanese kills it for me :(

I've read a few reports online here and there that it can be done, but with a $400+ purchase I don't want to take chances!

Alright, that's great news! Do you select english through a settings menu or sometype of serviced mode menu?  There's an amazon review where a guy says if you power on, poweroff real quickly it resets the device and brings up a language selection menu.

For sure! It's not a lot but that extra space goes a long way to housing all my Pink Floyd FLAC files :)

Settings, I can read Japanese but too much hassle so I set it as English

Never heard of that method.

Same thing, mine is almost 40GB filled, >95% FLAC

So if I upgraded to latest firmware and didn't like the new sound quality then I can factory reset and it will go back to the original firmware and sound quality?
