This is one of the main reason HD-800 is interesting to me at the moment or i would jump on the HE-6, LCD3, Stax sr-007 mk1/2, Sr-009..

i currently have the ESP-950 that weight 260g, really comfy and once you start having a comfortable headphone it's kinda hard to go back.

I don't wan't any sibilance created by the phone that is not in the recording tho so maybe the HD800 will not be for me.

ESP-950 is perfect on this..

I might try to find an better amp for the ESP-950 too but i douth it will fix the "in the head" soundstage.. maybe the Master 7 will widen the soundstage with those tho

I don't have any complaints about the HE-6 comfort wise. You can bend the headband however you like it so pressure isn't a big deal either. It is a heavy headphone but when the headband is adjusted to your liking, the weight is distributed very well anyway. I wear mine for hours without fatigue.

HE-6 definitely does not have sibilance when properly amped. Any reviews or complaints about sibilance was because those amps were greatly underpowering these monster.

For a neutral sounding setup, the HE-6 should be greatly considered.

I tried the quad headphones at the NYC audio show.

The following is what I heard , best image possible but looking at them this is obvious.
Next sound quality was fantastic of the best I have heard ever !!!. But no sound isolation and it was 5 k with there amp and transformer module . What really kill me was the look .
The other was I brought my own music on day 2 there and it was terrible with music that was complex and not really hidef quality. The resolution was so high it was like the Infiniti IRS 5 I own , you need really good source material or its not worth listing to . So in the end I did not buy them...

Yes, it is a balanced DAC, not a single-ended DAC with a phase splitter.

This one is on my short list, with the SA-2.... I need to find a solution to softned the too bright sound coming from my install (M2tech, burson DA 160/HA 160)

It's the M2tech the cause of the brightness, but instead of finding another USB/spdif interface, I wonder if getting a USB-32 capable dac is not a better solution, and the master 7 is a solution (although a costly one)

I've always been curious about the SA series from Audio-GD. Can't seem to find many impressions about them though. Seems like the logical progression for people who appreciate the technical abilities of the standard PCM1704UK DACs but find them too "flat".

The SA series sounds very good indeed, only it doesn't sound more dark but adding some harmonics (so called musicality). However, regarding Kingwa's words, the Master 7 comes with the best in details, transparency, 3D dimension which all the Sabre devices never be match (they are not in the same level). Obviously, "flat" is not associated with Master 7, although it is found in other PCM1704UK devices.

I can confirm to my ears the master 7 and 8 combo works great with the he 6 . no sibilance at all and it plays if need be. I really would like to hear somewhere in the USA the master7 in a really hi end speaker setup. does anyone know if anyone has this unite displayed in the USA?

A-GD SA sound = A-GD ACSS sound + harmonics

...or, if you are not familiar with A-GD "sound":

A-GD SA sound = tube amp "sound" + details + precision + power - noise/distortion

Quite spacious and "richer" sound (even on headphones) because of, I suppose, additional harmonically inducted audio "clues". Not necessary as clean as pure ACSS sound but very addictive.

That said, I would remark that I always try to keep my source as neutral as possible (f.e. Master-7) and just slightly "tailor" my amp section (f.e. SA-31), as opposed to "tailoring" the source (f.e. SA-2).

Anyone use a Mac with the Master 7? What media player works best with the M7 and Mac?

Why cant you leave the M7 for more than 8 hours a day? On the weekends, I listen to music all day long. Cetainly more than 8 hours...

You can, I don't know why this rumor keeps rearing it's head. Kingwa even came in here one time to say it was rubbish. I'll be leaving mine on indefinitely, only turning it off to take it to meets
