Hey guys, I've just got my Luxman P-700u few days ago. I'd discreetly find a compatible DAC with that. Does anyone made any comparisons between M7 and Luxman DA-06 or Marantz NA-11s1, SA-11S3.

PS: I've read 40 pages of these reviews that I take my respects.

Purrin's 21 dac comparison has m7 and da-06 listed....don't look at it if you are a Luxman fan though....

Thanks for the note. I just view the Purrin's lists which take good sense of directions. I've carefully auditioned Hilo Lynx , Auralic Vega and Marantz CD6003. I would say the latter impressed me far. (Hope my words don't trigger intense :), even though they aren't in the same price level. I take confident with audio gd or Marantz, because they meet some very definite standards, like taking good care of power, discrete analog stages, heavy cases. Now I know the PWD2.

It's hard to make of your choice.

I actually liked the DA-06 quite a bit. The other two guys were kind of "meh".

Thanks for your recommendation on M7 though. :D

My M7 arrived just an hour ago, and it has just been simply jaw dropping, going over all my favorite recordings now

Very very very happy with the purchase

Congrats!   Sound should improve further with a few hundred hours of run time.   Soundstage gets deeper and better bass.

Just had an odd thing happen. Was skyping with a friend and the noise skype makes to notify you that someone messaged you coincided with a bluescreen of death. (which mentioned the via drivers as the cause) First time this has happened and I don't remember reading anything about this anywhere else. Probably a freak accident.

I had the same thing happened to me atleast 5 times in the last two weeks with the 2014V2 firmware and drivers.  I have a NFB-1.32 though.

The error is  viausb .sys   something like that.

vs.

iFi USB iPurifier: http://www.ifi-audio.com/en/iPurifier.html

I have tried them individually in the following configurations:

1. PC>USB cable>Short Block>M7

Result: USB noise gone. The resulting sound is cleaner, more detailed and more balanced.

2. PC>USB cable>iPurifer>M7

Result: USB noise still present. The resulting sound is not so clear, detailed and balanced as with the Short Block.

>> Short Block is the clear winner in my setup.

Thanks for reporting back on them, Seaice. Interesting results, does that mean the iPurifier is out and moving onto the For Sale forums? If so, I do have an open Wanted Ad for one and would love to have a listen to it if so.

As for the results, do you still find that with the two in tandem, PC>USB cable>Short Block>iPurifier>M7 (as you originally had), that the results are different and better than just the Short Block alone?

The Ultra Fi Aubisque USB Filter was the first USB filter to mention filtering the data/signal line (like the iPurifier now says) and not just cut the +5v line (like the Short Block does), so that one is first on my list to try. It's just a real pain trying to find one on the used market. I had my head down for a bit and missed one that was on Canuck Audio Mart 2 months ago :-(
