Audio-Gd Master 7 - Discrete Fully Balanced DAC (PCM1704) - Page 92

Hi Fujak! Hi everyone!

I am using a similar setup. I use JPLAY in a double PC setup with W2K12 R2 Core, both with Phil´s optimization (Josef, Marcin and Phil have done a REALLY good job). Currently I use a StelloU3 as DDC into M7 via AES input. I am very satisfied for the moment and M7 keeps going better and better:). If I were you I would try this way as well, try a good DDC instead of modding AGD USB32. Apart from SQ, you will be able to take the most of JPlay if DDC driver is Thseycon or similar. In my setup I run everything at minimum latency without any issue (Ultrastream, US=20, directlink...) via AES.

Let me ask you a question, have you tested you HiFace directly (no MUTECs into the chain) into SPDIF input on M7 (Input3) at 24/192?. When I connect the Stello to SPDIF Input3 on M7 I get some "electrical noise" that DO NOT turn up when using AES. Other Jplay user who owns a M7 as well, told me that he has got the same result with a different DDC when connecting via spdif cable into input3. Here I have read people using Audiophilleo, but this case is not similar to mine because it doesn´t need an spdif cable.

I have tried different cables but no luck in input3. It would be interesting to know your results. I imagine you do not get these noises in your current setup

I am considering this MUTEC as well, but I am not sure, may be you want to sell one!!!????:beerchug:

Kind regads

This is a link to a USB shoot out. 15 units. It comes down to three units. Good luck a good read. And the gent who did the review is someone I can trust .

It is a very good review! I have read it several times. It finally recommends the Berkeley Alpha which I am sure is a really fantastic device. Little pricy for my DDC budget though. Reading at this review I will try to push my Stello performance with a linear psu feeding an audiophile PCI Express x1  to USB Card where Stello is connected. Actually M2Tech evo pushes when using its PSU.

Sorry for posting it twice.
I own the AP1/PP.
AND the offramp all
Options and the new psu. As the offramp has two forms
Of i2s I prefer it. But the review does give the nod to
AP1/PP. so in the end it is opinion.
The last one Berkeley or the m2tech I never heard
But info trust the reviewer. The only way
To get the most out of the m7 or most other dacs
It is good to own one.
I had a gent use it on his lampi and he felt it improved that too

I wonder if it's better than OR5+i2s for M7.

That's because IMO the USB on the Lampi is below par, but the DAC itself is great.

It´s hard to say, it surely depens on your setting. I am sure (almost...jejeje) that in my system Berkeley should be better....

Yes lampizator. I am getting a demo of a level 5 dsd dac for testing.

The offramp greatly increases details with all other dacs I use with it.
The only dac it does not help is the MSB. Stack . But the AP1/PP improves all too. Even the M7. But not as dramatic

Al, have you ever tried OffRamp into M7 Input3???

What settings exactly? OR5 options? Berkeley doesn't seem to have a lot of settings to play with.

Sorry, I mean that it depens on your transport and your DAC. Both devices are top but for example in my system Offramp driver is not very compatible with my transport in terms of buffering, latency....If I had to choose, I would take the berkeley, but this is only my opinion and allways refered to my system.

regarding OR5 options I imagine that every upgrade obviously helps to push SQ...

If that is spidif no I have not
I guess I should try though

Sorry there is no settings
I meant it had every option two turbo clocks
The regulators and the ISO trans formers
And his deprecate psu.
