Ray Samuels B52 Amplifier with Tube upgrades !
Will Ship To: Anywhere
I am selling my 9 month old Ray Samuels B52 Amplifier which I bought directly from Ray in America. This is a UK voltage model and if you are using this in a 110V country then you will need an adapter or an internal change to the amplifier.
I love this amplifier, but have recently bought new speakers and a new Sennheiser Orpheus setup and have decided to 'trim' my collection, which is taking up too much room in my house.
The Ray Samuels B52 amplifier is finished in black as shown in the images and I can send anywhere in the world. UK shipping will be free via DHL tracked.
Please be aware that there are a few minor scratches on the lower section of the amplifier as the upper section slipped on the metal feet causing a few scratches to the paint. These are hidden when both are stacked as shown in some of the images above. I am an honest seller however and need to list everything in the auction as I want to be completely transparent. These little marks cannot be seen when the two sections are positioned for use (and they could probably be touched up easy enough).
I wasn't happy with Ray's tube selection and managed to source a matched quad set of Amperex 7119 tubes, to replace the 5687 tubes at the front. These cost over £300, as they are very hard to get, especially in a QUAD configuration. I also replaced the 12AU7 set he supplied with a FULL MUSIC set, which have a zero noise level and give a beautiful 'black' background to even the most dynamic classical music. The 12AX7 tubes are Ray's choice, and as they are for pre-amplifier duties, I never touched them. I only used this amplifier with my Sony R10 headphones. What a match! (I am selling the Sony R10 headphones in another auction).
This amplifier is currently being sold by Ray Samuels for $5,350 http://www.raysamuelsaudio.com/purchasing. I had to pay $1250 on customs fees too when it was imported. Please note this item doesn't come with a manual - Ray doesn't ship these with a manual. It is easy to set up - simply connect the power cable between both sections of the amplifier and connect a mains cable for your country to the socket. No mains cable is supplied - none is supplied with the B52 either when you buy it, as it is expected you will be using your own high grade power cable. A standard power cable can be bought on ebay for a few quid if you don't believe that cables make a difference...
If I sell at £2,350 I will be losing around £1,600 in 9 months, so I feel this is a reasonable 'buy now'. please no low ballers - I would rather hang onto this than sell for a stupid price.
If you are a serious buyer then please feel free to contact me directly. I can ship worldwide, and can find out costs to your location. This item is HEAVY, so costs will be relative to the weight. I will only ship with a high quality courier service such as DHL, which includes tracking to cover both buyer and myself.
(pictures were taken before cleaning the dust from the amplifier - it has not been used in many months!)
