For Sale:
Sony R10 headphones - professionally recabled to balanced

Will Ship To: Anywhere

I am selling my last set of Sony R10 headphones which have received a lot of love and attention recently - These are number 365. These headphones cost me £3,500 at the end of last year - although I have put a lot of time and money into restoring and enhancing them.

They were recently recabled by Toxic Cables and new pads and inner linings have been fitted which has dramatically improved the sound quality, including bass response and sound staging. The pads and inner linings are almost impossible to find.

I also spent a few months treating the wood and improving the appearance. There are only a few minor scuffs on the wood due to the age. Please be aware these headphones are 20 years old, they aren't brand new. I am an honest seller and have attempted to take as many pictures as possible in my little photographic studio.

The Sony R10 is one of the most iconic headphones ever made and they are extremely hard to find, never mind in this condition. Collectors are constantly on the look out for these headphones.

As you can see from the images, these headphones were recabled right to the driver by Frank at Toxic Cables in the UK. This is very delicate, but Frank is a GURU with headphone recabling and they sound fantastic now. The new cable is 100% high grade copper, much better than the original cable and this improves the sound quality even more. He has used carbon fibre/silver plugs with high grade silver connectors on the plugs. These plugs are offset with little coloured jewels, also shown in the pictures.

This recabling job cost almost £700 all in, which includes the cable, silver pins and Franks time.

I was using them with a Ray Samuels B52 amplifier which I will also be selling soon as I bought a Sennheiser Orpheus setup recently and still use my STAX 009.

These headphones really are stunning and in better condition now than when I received them. If you dont have a balanced amplifier then you can buy a 2x3 XLR to single ended converter on ebay (from Toxic cables - frankfranks).

I have no official case or accessories for the Sony R10 headphones, but I will ship worldwide very securely via DHL. Please contact me if you need a shipping price to your location as I can't list all the prices in the auction.

Shipping in the UK via DHL tracked is free. Other countries are not free.

Please no time wasters, these are truly collectors items for music lovers - I will ignore stupid offers. I am listing these headphones elsewhere and I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time, so if you are serious about a purchase then send me a message.

I am not interested in trades, swaps etc.
